Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
Why not? Makes sense, and is probably one of the bigger fights readily available to both fighters. Geale would kick Mundine's ass I figure.

Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
Where is the call out in that video? Mundine is asked some questions about Geale and answers them. What a beat up
Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
Because there would be very little interest in the fight and to be honest id be surprised if Geale wanted it with all the bs Mundine pulled for publicity in their last fight.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? The irony is for years Mundine said Danny Green was piggy backing on his popularity. Now a very well past it Mundine is trying to latch on to any sort of known boxer for paychecks. Why?... Lord knows... I've felt for a long time he must owe someone money.... he's certainly not kept it up for the love of boxing....
Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
I hope Geale would win but the manner of his losses to Golovkin and Cotto might of affected Gealey's psyche. They are both finished on the international stage so it would be another good earn for both of them. Gealey has to beat Quinlan first though.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
I didn't even know that Geale and Mundine had fought twice before prior to this thread so I'm curious to know what kinda sh*t did Mundine pull for publicity?Tinnie wrote:Because there would be very little interest in the fight and to be honest id be surprised if Geale wanted it with all the bs Mundine pulled for publicity in their last fight.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? Re: Mundine calls out Geale for 3rd fight
Well Gealey said he was interested in the clip they both made a couple of million on the last fight and Mundine would probably be a Richard head again to sell the fight as a grudge match. You may be onto something with the last paragraph in the Clottey,Hatley fights he was knocked down 9 times all up. Must be detrimental to his health you would think if he was so rich why would he keep fighting?Tinnie wrote:Because there would be very little interest in the fight and to be honest id be surprised if Geale wanted it with all the bs Mundine pulled for publicity in their last fight.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? Mundine won a close first meeting. Geale won the rematch confortably. But not before Mundine made racist comments about Geale's wife and children pre-fight.gilgamesh wrote:I didn't even know that Geale and Mundine had fought twice before prior to this thread so I'm curious to know what kinda sh*t did Mundine pull for publicity?Tinnie wrote:Because there would be very little interest in the fight and to be honest id be surprised if Geale wanted it with all the bs Mundine pulled for publicity in their last fight.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? He questioned Geales heritage and said he doesn't have the right to have the Aboriginal flag on his shorts. Also that he doesn't ''keep it real' because he has a white wife and kids. Mundine is desperate to keep his name in the papers while he waits for the Green rematch. He demonstrated that by claiming he was making an NRL comebackTinnie wrote:Because there would be very little interest in the fight and to be honest id be surprised if Geale wanted it with all the bs Mundine pulled for publicity in their last fight.gilgamesh wrote:Why not? Geale beat Mundine very comfortably the last time they met and would likely repeat the dose if they met again.gilgamesh wrote:All the more reason for Geale to beat the sh*t out of himDA GOOSE wrote:He questioned Geales heritage and said he doesn't have the right to have the Aboriginal flag on his shorts. There is no unfinished business there and I doubt Geale even harbors any ongoing animosity for Mundine's racist comments, he just isn't that type of guy.
Mundine vs Green on the other hand is unfinished business and that's why it will sell so well, even though both are way past prime.
Mundine vs Green will make absolute multiples of what Mundine vs Geale would make.

All Green has to offer is his sore ass from the first boxing lesson he received, at the end of the day it's all Mundine choice what happens regardless of how much Green drools for it

Green has been involved in 2 of the 4 biggest money fights in Australian boxing history, and a Mundine rematch may well make it 3 of the top 5.
A Mundine vs Green fight will make 2 or 3 times as much as a Mundine vs Geale fight, and naturally without Green it simply won't happen.Truth is Mundine now needs Green just as much as Green needs Mundine.

Regardless of money, Danny Green wants the fight because his ego was severely dented 10 years ago, desperate Danny needs to fight a underweighted opponent because he is ashamed of a loss on his recordLike a Boss wrote:GhostBoxing15 wrote:Danny Green made a nice living off IBO trinkets, dragging out retirees & overrated bumsLike a Boss wrote:

I would rather see Mundine v Geale 3 than Mundine v Green 2. Too much weight difference these days. I was there for Mundine v Green and also Mundine v Geale 1. Sure Mundine was beaten well the 2nd time they fought, but the first one was a good fight. I hope Watts can cause an upset and derail plans for Mundinev Green.

Mundine and Green need each other. “This (the Green rematch) is my last fight,” Mundine told the Telegraph. “I know I’m against the odds but I’ve gotta win at all costs and I will. This will be a historic moment in Australian boxing.”

I agree it will make more than Mundine-Geale 3 would of but watching wide world of sports they were pretty underwhelmed with the fight. Besides there's nothing to suggest a Mundine vs Geale fight would be any closer than a Mundine vs Green fight. Geale beat Mundine easily the last time they met and Mundine has hardly improved since.

The media have salivated over the prospect of this fight for years. Every time they interviewed Mundine or Green they would ask them when it was going to happen, and now it is.
Stand by for the media frenzy and media frenzies lead to public frenzies. I have a feeling this fight will do ridiculous numbers. They are already being predicted.
