The most spectacular boxer in every weight class.
The most spectacular boxer in every weight class.
Tell me about boxers wathced by you.
1. Who do you think is the most spectacular boxer at every weight class? Why do you think so?
2. What fights potentially will be most spectacular during next two years?
For me:
at heavyweight:
boxers - Joshua and Ortiz;
fight - Joshua vs Ortiz.
at cruiserweight:
boxers - I think Usyk is the most skilled and spectacular here, but also It's fun to watch such boxers as Glowacki (he is true warrior), Briedis (very powerful), Dorticos (skilled and powerful);
fights - waiting for the Glowacki vs Usyk, also would want to watch Glowacki vs Briedis & Usyk vs Dorticos.
at light heavyweight:
boxers - my favorites are Kovalev, Ward (has amazing defense), Artur Beterbiev (very skilled, brutal and powerful), Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (true warrior with powerful punch, he did spectacular fights against Paul Parker and Yunieski Gonzalez);
fights - waiting for Kovalev vs Ward, also would want to watch Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk.
at middleweight:
boxers - GGG is the best, but also I like Chris Eubank Jr, Ievgen Khytrov (he is real punching machine), Derevyanchenko (one of the most skilled fighter at middleweight);
fights - GGG vs Derevyanchenko and Jacobs vs Eubank.
at lightweight:
boxer - Dejan Zlatchanin.
at superfeatherweight:
boxer - Vasyl Lomachenko (genius!);
fights - I'm sure that every Lomachenko's fight must be spectacular, because "Hi-Tech" one of the biggest genius of boxing art.
at featherweight:
boxer - Oscar Valdez (fast and powerful);
fights - Valdez vs Frampton, Frampton vs Santa Cruz II.

What are u talking about? What a credit? You talking nonsense.boxing_rocks wrote:You are clearly into Ukrainians giving them credit most of them haven't deserved yet.
Yes, I'm ukrainian and what? It is natural that I watched many fights of ukrainian boxers. And I can discuss only about boxers that I saw. I'm interested in different opinions which I want to use like advice.

Then you must know that most of the ones you mentioned don't have wins against top professional opposition. Too early to label them as "the most spectacular".MaxiBoxc wrote:What are u talking about? What is spectacular in let's say Khytrov? He seems to have lost some skills he had in amateurs and is not showing much in his fights.MaxiBoxc wrote:You are totally wrong. What is spectacular in the skilled punching machine? ) I see you didn't watch Khytrov's last fight. He looked much better than in the fights before. He improved his footwork and defense. He landed half of the thousand punches at Mendez during 9 rounds.boxing_rocks wrote:What is spectacular in let's say Khytrov? Mendez is taylor made for Khytrov. He was standing in front of him and not even moving his head much. I will believe that Khytrov improved if he beats somebody who can move and box.MaxiBoxc wrote:What is spectacular in the skilled punching machine? ) I see you didn't watch Khytrov's last fight. Your faith does not affect for reality. Khytrov is powerful boxer who can make a lot of pressure for his opponents. He is spectacular fighter.boxing_rocks wrote:Mendez is taylor made for Khytrov. I'll only name divisions I'm most interested in:MaxiBoxc wrote:I'd want to hear opinion of everyone, who watched fights of different boxers.

at featherweight:
boxer - Oscar Valdez (fast and powerful);
fights - Valdez vs Frampton, Frampton vs Santa Cruz II.
HW: Boxer - 1) Joshua; 2) Ortiz; 3) Wilder/Povetkin (both are limited but entertaining)
Fight - Wilder vs Povetkin
CW: Boxer - 1) Dorticos (great power, good skills and entertaining style); 2) Glowacki; 3) Kudryashov (very limited, not top-10 material, but we know he will either KO his opponent or will be KO'ed himself);
Fights - Usyk vs Glowacki, Lebedev vs Gassiev and Briedis vs Dorticos
LHW: Boxer - 1) Beterbiev: 2) Stevenson; 3) Kovalev
Fight - Beterbiev vs Kovalev
MW: Boxer - 1) GGG; 2) Jacobs; 3) Derevyanchenko
Fight - Jacobs vs Derevyanchenko or Khytrov vs Murata
WW: Boxer - 1) Pacquiao (still); 2) Spence; 3) Brook
Fight - Spence vs Brook
SFW: Amazing division. There are tons of spectacular fighters here - Salido, Vargas, Corrales, Sosa, Waltes, Miura, Uchiyama and of course Vasyl Lomachenko.
Fight - Lomachenko vs Salido rematch is the most interesting to me, but it might end up in a one-sided beating. So I'd go with Salido vs Walters, Salido vs Miura and Corrales vs Sosa.
PS: Wilder vs Povetkin is probably the most interesting fight that can be really made in boxing now. I just don't get how people try to make an unbeateable monster of a limited Povetkin, I think it's a genuine 50/50 fight.

Agreed about Povetkin. I remember his fight against Takam, it was realy spectacular fight with impressive KO.Boxing Writer wrote:

Re: The most spectacular boxer in every weight class.
You are the one with faith. I am talking about reality. Some of the boxers you named will probably show spectacular fights, but some won't. You are basing your faith on their amateur achievements, but we know many examples when those don't translate into professional ones.MaxiBoxc wrote:Your faith does not affect for reality. Nope. Povetkin is only feared by the glass chin Wilder. The most avoided fighters right now are Golovkin and Spence.Boxing Writer wrote:He wil say Povetkin is the most feared fighter of all timeMaxiBoxc wrote:Your faith does not affect for reality. I can talk about why you are wrong, but this topic has another subject of discuss. I just want to hear opinions and that's why I gave an example.boxing_rocks wrote:You are the one with faith. You must get into reality.
