POLL: Where is the rematch going to be held and why?
Where is the rematch going to be held?
Name the city. Nominate a venue there and explain why you think that venue will get chosen.

It will be in Melbourne, at the Etihad Stadium, as we all know that Melbournites will turn up to watch paint dry, which the fight will be as exciting as.

Melbourne love sport and Green has a huge following here. It also has the best selection of suitable venues of any capital city.Beltane wrote:It will be in Melbourne, at the Etihad Stadium, as we all know that Melbournites will turn up to watch paint dry, which the fight will be as exciting as.
Hisense holds 10,500.
The Tennis Centre holds 17,000.
Etihad holds 50,000.
With the right promotion and enough interest created it may well go to Etihad.

Melbourne close to a cert I reckon. UFC got 56,214 through the door at Etihad. I reckon Mundine-Green could do well in excess of 35,000 there.

Each will be allowed to bring their bathroom scales to avoid any disappointment.

I don't know Ruiz outweighed RJJ by far more than that but though I have no interest in watching this fight many others do.They will make an exception to the rule for the $$$.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:DA GOOSE wrote:Agree with Beltane on all counts.

Oh yeah my bad Clive
Still don't think they will worry about weight disparity rules. Money>rules in boxing.

Victorian Combat Sports rule

a. If the lighter contestant’s weight is less than 57.15 kilograms then the difference in weight between the two contestants must be no more than two kilograms
b. If the lighter contestant’s weight is between 57.15 and 72.57 kilograms then the difference in weight between the two contestants must be no more than five kilograms
c. If the lighter contestant’s weight is between 72.57 and 79.38 kilograms then the difference in weight between the two contestants must be no more than six kilograms
d. If the lighter contestant’s weight is between 79.38 and 90.72 kilograms then the difference in weight between the two contestants must be no more than eight kilograms

This one being the applicable one :
c. If the lighter contestant’s weight is between 72.57 and 79.38 kilograms then the difference in weight between the two contestants must be no more than six kilograms
So with the limit set at 83kg (Green) the lightest that the lighter (Mundine) can come in at is 77kg.

Dear Clive,
I didn't raise Jones-Ruiz. If you had read a bit more carefully you would have seen this was the origin of Jones-Ruiz being mentioned :
Oh, and apology accepted mate. Cheers
