Lomenchenko @ Welterweight!

Post by bnovelist »

Is he fighting soon? Is he moving up in weight? Is he on the shelf what's up? He should move up safely to 140lbs and let his body adjust do what

Mayweather did. Lomenchenko at 147lbs is crazy! Pac and Mayweather did it so can he! Word can't describe him fighting as a welterweight. I have

a sick and twisted mind  seeing Lomenchenko let loose on Garcia, Thurman, Bradley, and Errol Spence. It would be like dropping a mongoose

in the aquarium with a 10ft king cobra with Lomenchenko as the mongoose! He's like a piranna fish! He's not human!

Lomachenko was outmuscled and roughed up by Orlando Salido. I figure moving all the way up to Welterweight would be at least 2 bridges too far. His speed and movement is his greatest asset he's not gonna be as light on his feet moving up in weight like that. He looks small to me even for the 130 pound weight class. I doubt he'd be able to successfully compete at the top level at Welterweight, but stranger things have happened. At any rate we certainly won't be seeing him there anytime soon I don't figure.

He's got the skills but no way does he have the power for 147.

Floyd got roughed up by Genero Hernandez and Burton at 130lbs remember? Pac got outbox by Marquex and lost to Eric Morales remember that?

The guy should gradually move up in weight he will be a GREAT addition to 147

135 lbs division is his limit IMO, maybe 140 at the end of his career if he clear lower weights. But boxers like Porter, Thurman, Brook are simply too big for him. At 126 and 130 is a LOT of names, no reason to move up in weight. Nicholas Walters, Jason Sosa, Oscar Valdez, Leo Santa Cruz, Carl frampton. Bring the fights ! :) He can also beat the sh*t out of Gary Russel again because some people believe he have chance in remach

Remember that's how Floyd and Pac BOTH looked, very short and small.

They also turned Professional at a much younger age than Lomachenko as well. Floyd was already competing at 140 when he was Vasyl's age.

Floyd dominated Genaro Hernandez, and the difficulty he had with Burton is greatly exaggerated mostly because Floyd himself always says it's his toughest fight, and so many people seem to just blindly take his word for it even though fighters are often dishonest about that sort of thing. Anybody that's followed his career knows damn well that wasn't his toughest fight. Maybe it presented some mental hurdle for him that he'd never previously dealt with, but he was definitely in tougher fights.

Lomachenko was fouled many times in the Salido fight -- over 50 low blows. But he wasn't roughed up... He didn't have a mark on him after 12 and he nearly knocked Salido out in the 12th.. He landed 30% more legal punches and he was flat out robbed with the SD.. Salido lost the title on the scales by being way overweight ... and never even made an attempt to make the Featherweight limit.

Loma wants the Salido rematch. If he gets it he'll knock Salido out cold -- which he easily did to Rocky Martinez who beat Salido -- Loma won every round from Martinez and knocked him out cold easy as pie.. Loma moved up to 130 because he was ducked and ducked for over a year by Santa -- who recently was beaten by the cherry-picked Frampton.. Santa and Selby have been ducking Gary Russell forever -- and if they ever face him they're going down to a certain KO loss.. Unfortunately, in Boxing there's no way to force the most appropriate fights.. Lomachenko is not a North American so he's not likely to get the most appropriate fights.

After Mikey Garcia gets another fight or two getting the ring rust off from his long layoff, I think a realistic match-up would be him vs Lomanchenko at 135.

In due time. He's 28, he'll have four more fights by time he is 30. then he can move up.

If Mikey Garcia's next fight is Dejan Zlaticanin like the rumors have been suggesting then I'm not so sure he's gonna shake the rust off so easily. I think Zlaticanin beats him

I was hoping for Lomo vs Rigo. Everything was agreed upon except money. They only offered 500k to Rigo so it died. Rigo also agreed to a 116-118 catchweight for Gonzalez but not sure where that went. Bot would be great fights.
