If Tupou was acting then he is very talented method actor. He must have made a very deep study of what unconscious people do, because he re-created it to a T.

It's also strange that Parkers team felt the need to pay for a win against a guy who had been stopped three times before?

The acting could be realistic if it was any punch. But JP even did touch him-)))

And people dive not only if paid by opponent...he (his wife, brother, mistress) could gamble on KO in 1, for example.

He was touched above the temple and has no chin. And since he has no chin I highly doubt he and his wifes brothers mistress would have made much betting on a KO 1 loss. The punch didn't look like much, but if he wasn't out cold then he's among the best actors I've ever seen and extremely well learned in how the human body works after being knocked out cold.

This might surprise some people, but this is the second best win of Long's career, after the Nikolay Popov win in 2004, and ahead of the Ramon Hayes win in 2005. So it might not seem like a big deal, but relative to his career, it's sort of a big deal.

Your sight surely much better than mine, lucky you. Yes he was touched on the temple and this couldn't KO even my 95yo aunt Sarah.

BTW, gambling is only one scenario...a guy from our gym once (in the 90's) made a dive due to injury he hide from promoters. Otherwise he wasn't get paid 10 or 12 thousand ...

I'm sure my eyesight is better than yours, as is my ability to judge (or not judge) an unconscious fighter. I will add your 95 year old auntie to the list of folks with chins better than Tupou; it's a long list, hence why the knockout wasn't surprising to anyone but you apparently.

Chin or no chin, KO still demanfs a punch...and it was no punch. Glance over the temple is not a punch.

The fall was realistic...I agree.

BTW, you can disagree with me...that's how it goes in controvercies-)))

Controversies also require both sides be at least plausible. You can watch Tupou's head move when the blow glances off. His chin is weak and the punch landed in a soft spot regardless of chin.

You're suggesting that Bowie had committed to the role so much that he allowed himself to go completely limp when falling (hard to do...try it), to remember to perform convulsive respiration as the referee rolls him over, and to remember to keep his jaw clenched so the referee could no remove his mouthpiece all while staying completely limp. Surely with that level of dedication to his role he would have waited to play his role until a punch landed.
