Rubbish. They were supposed to fight right after Bowe-Holyfield and Lewis-Ruddock he didn't fight McCall for two years after Ruddock, and Bowe was stripped of the WBC before Lewis fought Tucker for the title.

Styles make fights. You may also mention Holy lost the rubbermatch to hepatisis after he almost had Bowe ready to go.

Bowe would be always a risky fight for Lewis with his chin, but on the other hand Bowe had poor defence for a top fighter. He was happy to trade punches as his chin and power almost guaranteed it will be good strategy (like it was against Holy I), but I doubt this would be Lewis strategy. If anything, Lewis would fight more like better version of Golota - just bigger, with meaner jab and mentally stable.

There is no argument as to why that's a good career move, why dump the title and face Dokes? Lewis was the number one challenger at the time, Bowe doesn't even have the excuse of having to rematch Holyfeld. It was a blatant duck, and being lined up to fight him a couple of years later is an irrelevance, the fight was there, on a plate. Bowe wanted no part of it at the time. He was good enough to beat a green Lewis too.

Bowe was in his prime in 1992 & Lewis didn't reach his prime until about 1996 & by that time, Bowe was washed up & slurring his words.

I think it's more likely that Bowe would have won had they fought in 1993, when they should have, as Lewis was reckless & over reliant on his big Right.

Saying, Bowe was shockingly easy to hit & maybe, Lewis would only have need to land his honey punch to turn the tide his his favour.
