A lot of good posts on this thread. Groves should win this fight handily.ive only seen Chudinov on tape, not in person, but he seems like a come forward fighter who Groves shouldn't have problems with. Interesting fight.

Surely Groves has the beating of Chudinov. As long as George maintains his concentration I can see a fairly clear cut points win. Another decent matchup Groves has taken but the WBA title is a complete joke. I can't see how any WBA champ thinks they have a legitimate claim to be a world champ.

thats what gives me a little pause. Groves it seems to me thrives on having room and time and space to think. if you stand off him, he plays his little head-movement game, head-twitch left twitch right twitch where's my head gone there's my jab to the face, step off, repeat, twitch-left twitch-right jab to the body, step off, repeat...

its that rythmn that he establishes that makes his jab effective when it is working (and ultimately how he finds a home for the overhand right/right hook round the guard), and the caveat there is that if someone disrupts his rythmn and prevents his making them play guessing games, he is much much less effective, starts to look ragged on the back foot.

sooooooo.... if i was training someone to beat him it would be someone with quick, positive, aggressive footwork, someone who can use feints themselves to close the distance, and make Groves panic a bit because he is not controlling the pace of the action. whether or not Chudinov is that fighter i don't know, from what i have seen i'm not sure his footwork is quite quick enough or his head movement good enough.

Its a good fight - obviously Zeuge would be the easiest belt option, but this is a better fight.

I think Groves will get the title here, but I said that against Jack also.

Is Sturm retired or is he suspended. I can see he is not in any rankings but I didn't know if he was stripped or not.

Strum is under investigation in Germany for a steroid scandal. He has fled to Bosnia the country of his birth, he plans to have a fair well fight there from what I have read.

Groves should win chudinov is shite but groves just isn't the fighter he was after getting cobra'd, big return with degale for his retirement fight can't see groves being around after 30 years old tbh.
