Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
scrolling down the list of potential opponents in his weight, just a bunch of b-c level opponents, the worst part about it, they all bring nada $$$$. its not like at 140 there are huge money fights either, but at least he can make big pay days against crawford & broner. at his division there is nothing to gain, the quality is minus, he shouldnt waste no time. with 29 of age, he certainly aint at the end of his career, but now he is prime time and he shouldnt waste his prime boxing small pay days against some unknown folks. he should train as hard as he can, move to 140 and make $$$$, maybe even pacquiao
pac has 0 problem boxing 147 or 140 and with the buzz garcia has right now this would be a fight a lot of people would be me included hyped about it. 100 % would it be better than pac against the unknown australien guy or number 4 against bradley

He could fight Linares-Crolla winner.
I would like to see him fight Flanagan too.
Those two fights and he's unified the division

Re: Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
Hopefully he can fight Lomo at 135 before he moves up. He already said he would take that fight. Arum will probably steer away from that match-up though, even though Lomo would be favored to win. It would be a great fight!
Re: Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
The more I think about it the more Garcia/Crawford at 140 appeals! This might be top of my wish list for this year!

He's never fighting Crawford or Loma. Not enough money in those fights for Arum to work with him.

There are a lot of good opponents at 135. They're just not big money draws.

Amen to that plus there is Felix Veredjo too.Ruthless-RKO wrote:He could fight Linares-Crolla winner.

Re: Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
Did Mikey leave TR on good terms? If not then the Crawford (or at a stretch Pacquiao) fight would be very difficult to make, and beside from Crawford there's not a great deal at 140 for him. Garcia vs Broner at 140 sounds good, but so does Garcia vs Linares, Flanagan, Verdejo, Barthelemy, Lomachenko etc at 135.

The fall out with Top Rank surely makes Lomachenko, Crawford, Verdejo and Pacquiao all look very, very unlikely

YOU BOXING FANS ARE AS PREDICTABLE AS A MORNING DEUCE AFTER COFFEE AND CIGARETTE. I KNEW THAT I'D BE SEEING POSTS LEFT AND RIGHT ABOUT HOW MIKEY GARCIA WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD.
SO IDIOT SPORTSWRITERS ARE EVEN CONSIDERING HIM FOR TOP P4P. FOR BEATING A MIDGET? HE'S HAD TWO FIGHTS IN 3 YEARS AND HE'S FOUGHT A MIDGET AND A 34 YEAR OLD SLAP PUNCHER.
BOXING JUST COULDN'T GET MORE PATHETIC. NO ONE NEEDS TO EARN IT ANYMORE....IT'S JUST GIVEN AWAY.

The richest fight in history is a tad different than a fight between two guys the general public has never heard of. C'mon, I thought you were an expert?Jip wrote:Boxing Prospect wrote:The fall out with Top Rank surely makes Lomachenko, Crawford, Verdejo and Pacquiao all look very, very unlikely

There's tons of money in Loma or Crawford fights.. But he should stay put for now at 135 and consolidate those titles.

Sorry, it was the only way i could get this Boococky party you guys are having with Mikey to stop. It's hilarious how easily novice boxing fans can be swayed by promoter BS. You guys all bought how difficult this fight was going to be for Mikey Garcia. I looked at the tape and the tale of the tape, this fight was a mismatch of epic proportions. Now everyone wants to get on their knees and take one off the forehead for Mikey Garcia. Typical Novice fight fans.Tanzio wrote:Could you repeat that and speak up?caldo2025 wrote:YOU BOXING FANS ARE AS PREDICTABLE AS A MORNING DEUCE AFTER COFFEE AND CIGARETTE. No, Caldo, we all did not buy "how difficult this fight was going to be for Mikey Garcia." But, many of us acknowledged that fighting an undefeated, hard hitting, trinket holder in his second fight back was legit, though not likely to be competitive.caldo2025 wrote:Sorry, it was the only way i could get this Boococky party you guys are having with Mikey to stop. Mikey hasn't proven anything at lightweight, yet.
Re: Mikey Garcia should move to 140 as quick as possible
You need to call an all on board meeting with your whack pack then because they didn't get that memo. They have him pegged for HOF. This fight was clearly Garcia cherry picking to win another divisional belt. This was right out of the Ginger's book. If Garcia signs on to fight a top guy next then i'll shut up but if he picks out another fish with a strap then I'll jump back on the soap box if i have to.Tanzio wrote:No, Caldo, we all did not buy "how difficult this fight was going to be for Mikey Garcia." We need to start calling these boxers out for these types of fights. Cherry pickers need to go.

Garcia said he wants to fight in Britain at lightweight.
