Is this the same kind of brain scanner thats being introduced to every BIBA show from March. If so its a great step forward and if one commission is making the step forward others should follow suit.

If it can be proved that these scanners will make a difference then imo they need to become mandatory. I had read that BIBA had introduced them and well Donne to them for taking the bold step but without proper proof then it might be an outlay that could cripple any organisation especially if they are running multiple shows on the same evening. I'm sure I've hear that there are 3 BBBoC shows on in Scotland in one night in March ? that is a layout of near £40k just in Scotland in one night, as you would need 1 for each show and Scotland is just a small pool for the BBBoC.

Hopefully these machines do work and that all organisations have them phased in but imo it would be very hard to get these in every show immediately

I believe BIBA have bought 4 at a cost of 13 grand each. I also believe that BIBA have offered them to BBBoC to use at their shows if they want to try them out, but the response has been negative.

But there is where the problem is mate, not that the BBBoC have reacted negatively but BIBA have secured 4, they are claiming that all of their shows will use the brain scanners from March but with only 4 of them then that means they have to limit the amount of shows they can have. Will the shows in Malta be using these brain scanners? I know there is one there next month and if so that only leaves 3 scanners for shows in the UK on that night.

So ok for BIBA that is maybe ok as they have a very small pool of boxers and 4 shows in 1 night is probably a maximum anyway but I am sure that the BBBoC can be running 10 + shows some Fridays and Saturdays when the season is busy if not more so even if BIBA was to allow them to use their 4 then they wouldn't manage to have one at each of the BBBoC shows. It would also mean that if the BBBoC was using them, that BIBA couldn't run shows on those days?

mimmy123 I know you like to stick up for the little guy but sometimes you have to look at things from a less rose tinted specs point of view and look at things logically anyone can offer something to someone else but it has to be able to be practical for both parties for it to make sense. it is like me saying that I will let you use my car for your work when you need it but only if I'm not using it for work and we both work Monday to Friday 8-5 lol I have still offered it to you but in no way is it ever going to be practical

I understand what you are saying i really do and i dont want to go down the argueing route regarding these scanners.

As i understand it BIBA have offered to allow bbboc shows access to a scanner and personnel to demonstrate how the scanner works on one of their shows or several of there shows. Of course the bbboc will have to buy their own scanners if they wish to use them full time. I didnt want to suggest that BIBA were going to give access to a scanner on a full time basis.

As i understand it as no other sanctioning body have jumped on board as of yet allocating devices such as these it seems that BIBA are the first to do so. So in allowing the bbboc access it would give them a look at how scanners could help with further injury to boxers who might get the bleed on the brain. Its like a first responce.

Im sorry if i suggested that BIBA were going to buy several machines and allow another body to use it full time. As i read it it would be on a trail basis for them to see if they approved with the device and introduced it to their shows too.

I dont want to get this into another bbboc v Biba issue or argument as it was a offer made but i dont think it was accepted or ignored.
