Most Wins Against HOFers w/out a Loss
Most Wins Against HOFers w/out a Loss
What fighters have the most wins against HOFers without a loss?
Salvador Sanchez is 4-0. Aaron Pryor is 3-0. Surely there are those with more wins without a loss, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is 2-0 and will most likely end up 7-0 (Gatti, ODLH, JMM, Paquiao, Mosely, Cotto,Canelo, & possibly Hatton making it 8-0. If Castillo were to ever get in it would be 10-0)
Any others?

On the flip side the most losses to HOFers without a win against a HOFer - best I can come up with is Juan Laporte who is 0-7. I can't think of anyone with more than that without a single win.

What about draws? And do newspaper decisions count as wins? Packey McFarland is 5-0-3 (Welsh (+2 draws), Moran, Britton x2 (+a draw) and Mike Gibbons) though only one of them is an official win.
Carlos Monzon is 5-0 I believe (Benvenuti x2, Griffith x2 and Napoles (Valdez perhaps could end up in the hall one day which would bump him to 7-0)).
Marciano is 6-0 (Walcott x2, Charles x2, Louis and Moore).
Would be surprised if anyone else has more.

On the flip side: George ko Brown was 0-25-3-1NC against 11 different HOFers.

Monzon and Marciano were obvious and i missed them. Nice call.

I can't think of anything near what Floyd will tally. Genaro & corrales are two more possibilities.

Can we add Connor McGregor if he beats him? Pretty Boy Floyd is alone in the list. Is probably one of the reasons I have rated him top ten all-time pound per pound.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I can't think of anything near what Floyd will tally. Genaro & corrales are two more possibilities.

Crap wins... A better question would be wins over prime HOFers... And many of HOFers were terrible boxers, like Ingemar Johansson... How would he fare against Luis Ortiz??? He'd be gone in the 1st round... HOF is strictly political anyway... If Rocky beats 6 HOFers and they are soooooo gone -- and they have over 50 losses among them and have been beaten to trash -- but beating a fresh, young kid with great skills, tremendous punching power, lightning speed, and prime physicality would have meant a lot more than beating worn out old dogs... Take De La Hoya easily beating Julio Cesar Chavez twice... But losing to prime Mosley twice, Trinidad, Hopkins, Floyd, and getting trashed by Lil' Manny Pacquiao... It's when you fight 'em.HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote:What about draws? And do newspaper decisions count as wins? Some Hall of Famers should not be in the hall at all. Their careers were not that impressive in my opinion.
Re: Most Wins Against HOFers w/out a Loss
Packey McFarland fought 8 times with a 5-0-3 record against 4 different Hall of Famers and never lost - Britton 2-0-1 Mike Gibbons 1-0 Moran 1-0 Welsh 1-0-2

Thats a good catch.
That's pretty impressive. All of the opponents were legitmate, no-question about it Hall of Famers.

Thats why Floyds wins are trash. Most of the proposed HOFers he fought were older than dirt when he fought them unless he held some advantage over them like the marquez fight.Kalan wrote:HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote:What about draws?
