He looked a shell of the Bute that fought Degale and Jack. He was worth a punt because if that Bute had turned up he could of beaten Alvarez but after his recent failed drug test maybe he was off the sauce.JimGunn wrote:Lucian Bute was looking really good through the first four rounds, using angles, movement & footwork, getting his punches off and avoiding counters. He was up three rounds to one on my scorecard after four. But he got caught with a hard counter to the chin in round five and a follow up in the same spot a few seconds later. He went down and stood up wobbly and Alvarez earned a round 5 TKO. I kept my bet small, and Lucian looked good until then so no regrets with a stab at +280. Will be interesting to see if Lucian retires now or what.

Re: Betting thread
Worth noting the Bute that fought last night was drug free, the one that fought against Jack wasn't.

Anyone know anything about Rakeem Noble? Is he worth a punt vs Coyle?
Re: Betting thread
Maybe on points didnt see his Pospere fight but he didnt seem impressive in his earlier fights, I think Coyle on points is the play but Noble could win on points i guess.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Anyone know anything about Rakeem Noble? Is he worth a punt vs Coyle?

He's beaten 2 undefeated fighters since his loss so I think he's worth a bet. Maybe double him with Vargas inside the distance.Jmashyaka wrote:Maybe on points didnt see his Pospere fight but he didnt seem impressive in his earlier fights, I think Coyle on points is the play but Noble could win on points i guess.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Anyone know anything about Rakeem Noble? told you he wasnt very good. He has his chin up high and has no power or footwork.ShadrachSimmo wrote:He's beaten 2 undefeated fighters since his loss so I think he's worth a bet. Fancy both heavyweight tilts to end within 3 and had a small bet but not much.

Re: Betting thread
Crazy heavyweight fight! Yet another big underdog in Dominic Breazeale cashes at +215 and better.
Re: Betting thread
I could have sworn that I tipped Breazeale pre-fight the other day, but since I don't see it earlier in the thread at a glance.

Re: Betting thread
This one wasn't a underdog, but a slight fave. After probably dropping the first six rounds on the scorecards, "Swift" Jarrett Hurd TKOs Tony Harrison to claim the IBF world super welterweight strap! Hit on the ML and KO prop there.
Re: Betting thread
Gerald Washington looked very good in those first four rounds using his jab while Deontay Wilder looked pretty lethargic. I actually thought Washington ought to have been up on the scorecards 40-36 after four. I had my fingers crossed for Washington to keep it up, but Wilder's power came through in round 5 for the TKO. Small loss on the main event, but nice big wins on the first two fights with a big upset and then KO prediction, so another profitable card overall!
Re: Betting thread
I talked myself into this low risk array of plays for the Haye vs Bellew fight on Saturday. They aren't really that much different in size despite Bellew being a cruiserweight champion and Haye being known as a heavyweight. Wins over five hundred if Bellew pulls off the upset by any method and results in either a small gain or small loss if Haye finishes Bellew early in the first three rounds as most everyone is predicting:
Tony Bellew (+550) vs David Haye $100.00 for $550.00
David Haye wins in round 1 (+1100) $15.00 for $165.00
David Haye wins in round 2 (+700) $20.00 for $140.00
David Haye wins in round 3 (+650) $15.00 for $97.50
Tony Bellew (+550) vs David Haye $100.00 for $550.00
David Haye wins in round 1 (+1100) $15.00 for $165.00
David Haye wins in round 2 (+700) $20.00 for $140.00
David Haye wins in round 3 (+650) $15.00 for $97.50

OHara Davies by stoppage is evens at Paddy Power. Very generous odds by my book. I'll be having a serious piece of that.

Watch his Ifl TV interview after the scarpa fight. Hard to back him to win by stoppage after seeing it. He was saying he doesn't care about stoppages and will always just try to cruise and win on points if he can.

Re: Betting thread
Any coincidence that he'd struggled with Scarpa and couldn't stop him? He's a decent body puncher (ask Andy Keates) and Derry is suspect there. Confident he will stop Derry.TheLeprechaun wrote:The Insider wrote:OHara Davies by stoppage is evens at Paddy Power. Very generous odds by my book. I'll be having a serious piece of that.

£50 on Haye rd 1 10/1
£50 on Haye rd 2 9/1
At Hills, might lump another £100 on spread across first 3.

Got 11/1 on 1st round from sporting bet. Worth a go might not be at that price for long.

Yamanaka inside the distance, 10/11 with Paddy Power. Fill your boots, fill your grans boots and your neighbours boots
Re: Betting thread
My big bet for the weekend is David Haye to beat Bellew rounds 1-6 @ 8/11. That price is so good it actually stopped me putting more money on it if that makes sense. Makes you wonder do the bookies know something I don't? I might put some more on before the weekend although the price has been clipped in a bit to 8/13.
My other bet is Ohara Davies to win via KO/TKO and DQ against Derry Mathews @Eves.
