dave allen v David Howe (undercard 02)

Post by brilo33 »

they were talking dave allen up last week , in the interview after hull fight ,he says he actually trained for that fight ,i think he could be a british champ if he put the effort in, can take a shot and give one, beats price for me,think he could beat Dillian Whyte in a rematch in trained well

Decent fighter needs to train properly and get the right backing behind him.
Maybe gets to British title level. Can't see him ever beating Price or Whyte though IMO

Like Allen a lot and respect him as a fighter not scared to give it a go with guys like Ortiz and Whyte! Be interesting to see how far he can go if he takes his training seriously! Defo has a British Title in him I think

I like Allen, he's a character and always replies to people on twitter, I don't tweet myself but I follow boxers, i'd love to se him get a crack at the British, he's a throwback

He could definitely be British champ. The BBBoC have set the standard when they ordered Cornish v Sexton for the vacant title (awful match making). There's every chance Allen beats the two of them.

There's no excuses for not training hard, and not being in shape there's people grafting there balls off to get the David Allen treatment

Agreed. Allan's just too tough for Price. He's wear him down these days

Hes certainly shown he can go rounds as a punching bag, but Ive never seen him show much else against a decent opponent, and talk of beating Whyte seems farfetched. Theres a huge gap between the guys who beat him and the guys hes beat, and to get a better idea of his ability Id like to see him face someone between those points.

Howe is still a pretty low level guy, though obviously a step up on the crap he fought last time.

What do you see in Allen aside from a good chin? How would he beat Whyte?

His technique is pretty decent. He moves well. But he is extremely lucking in athleticism. It seems that he started to train after Ortiz but until I see a real change is his physicality I wont get on the bandwagon. He needs to prove to me he can work hard.

That said though this Howe guy is completely useless from what I've seen. Allen should get him out of there in a round or two.

People still don't get it. A mediocre heavyweight is a very good heavyweight these days. That's why Allen's getting talked about.

Allen has zero wins over anyone in the top 100. He can take a beating for sure, but I really dont think hes that good at all.

A bit Homer Simpson-ish for me, at least in comparison to guys in the top 40 or so. Fair play to him for getting the attention he has despite his limitations and weak resume.

Don't think Allen is Anywhere near European level...not a lot of skill just swinging...pretty poor really!
