Jacobs was a chinny bum / Golovkin was a hypejob - double standards

Post by apollo creed »

If GGG beats Jacobs then Jacobs was a chiny bum and if Jacobs beats GGG then GGG was a hypejob who was previously 'exposed' by a welterweight - haters common sense.

Now that Jermall Charllo moved to 160 , some people will say GGG has to fight him to prove himself. :witzend:

Yup, they would probably say GGG has to fight Usyk or Joshua.

I dont think anyone serious is calling golovkin a hype job though some may say brook showed some chinks in his armour, though most say ggg was just carelessly walking him down.
Ive noticed jacobs has recieved a lot of respect on this forum as the second best middleweight in the world, i dont know who hes beaten except mora, but you cant ask for much more than the no.1 and no.2 of a division meeting.
Jacobs is clearly a prime aged, athletic, powerful opponent. Should be a good fight.

The problem is those opinions have merit behind them. Jacobs is chinny and GGG is a hypejob but these are still the two best middleweights at worst 1 & 3.There's no one at middleweight that GGG will get credit for other than Canelo pretty simple.

Some people would say that Saunders is no. 2 at 160 because he's undefeated and he has a title but after his last fight I'd say Jacobs T/K.O's Saunders and Lemieux T/K.O's both. :OhYes:

He is a hype job when people say he's the best middleweight ever! So therefore he's a hype job a good one but still one.

I'm sure a few people do the same. Anywhere there's success there is idiots questioning it. Folk like to be different for attention. Most folk who know their stuff noticed GGG was a force years ago even when he'd just won his title. Guy is technically sound. He gets involved and hit because he chooses to. There's definitely more strings to his bow than we've already seen and I'm worried we won't get to see the best of him in a pro ring. As far as the Canelo fight goes, time is firmly on Canelos side. Wouldn't surprise me if he tries to stall another couple of years. It's a fuckin blatant dodge and a joke.

No matter what happens in this fight Jacobs is far from a chinny bum, but I'll be honest and say that I'm not seeing these superior skills that he apparently has. The narrative being forced upon this fight is one of Jacobs being the bigger, more athletic man - which I agree with - and that he will have the skills to outbox GGG if he can take the power. Firstly, I don't see him taking the power so it's irrelevant either way, but I disagree with him having any sort of skill advantage over GGG.

I see Golovkin being much more switched on than he was against Brook, using his jab much more like he did against Lemieux. But unlike the Lemieux fight, I don't think GGG will want to spend too much time on the outside against Jacobs. Instead I see him using his jab efficiently and effectively to back Jacobs up, get into his preferred range and land his bombs. The more I think about it, the more I can see this fight being a vintage Golovkin performance. Both Jacobs' strengths and weaknesses lend this fight to being a ruthless Golovkin masterclass in pressure fighting and power punching.

Jacobs is not a bum, but his chin is in fact too soft for facing Golovkin. I am pretty sure Lemieux would beat him too.

One-legged Lemieux wouldn't beat Jacobs. A healthy one definitely will.

If Jacobs could convincingly beat GGG, he'll be regarded as a monster and favorite over Canelo,
and everyone at 160 and 154.

If GGG beats Jacobs convincingly, he'll continue to be the favorite over every fighter lower than 175,
and his argument for p4p #1 would have more credibility.

This fight is legit and it's exactly what boxing should be. No losers.

Whatever happens these are two tremendous fighters. The knockout stats between the two are almost unprecedented. I won't be surprised if Jacobs goes for it from the off, he's got that power. The long game often means more punishment against GGG, whose stamina is in the Marciano class.

The icing on the cake is that they seem to be great people too. This fight doesn't need any fake bad blood theatricality. It sells itself.

Jacobs fought just two opponents above C level, Pirog and Quillin. He was stopped by one and fought the other one for less than 3 minutes. In other words, Jacobs is unproven. His trainer is no good and so is his chin. I am not even sure that he could beat motivated in shape BJS or Eubank Jr.

Jacobs is chinny, that's not a myth. The part about him being a bum however is unfair. He's a decent although not great boxer-puncher (better puncher than boxer). However I don't buy into the narrative that is being pushed by some that he's the clear number 2 at middleweight however. I believe that Lemieux would stand a very good chance of beating him, as others have mentioned and I'm also not entirely sold on the premise that his win over Quillin wasnt somewhat of a fluke.

If the fight had gone 5/6 rounds and he finally conquered Quillin after absorbing some big punches himself; I would be convinced that his upcoming bout with Golovkin would be somewhat competitive. However, I believe he caught Quillin cold in that fight and took him out before absorbing any damaging punches himself.

It's hard to be totally sold on a fighter however who was dropped by a fairly innocuous looking left hook from a below average puncher in Mora and preceding that was knocked out by another pressure fighter from a former Soviet union country in Pirog.

I predict that Jacobs gets stopped in around 5 after back peddling furiously for the 4 rounds preceding that, looking terrified.

And what will happen if GGG knocks out Jacobs and then knocks out Canelo? Still no credit. GGG is doomed unless he jumps up in weight and fights either Kovalev or Ward. I think that's the only way he will get the idiots to shut up. Me, I've already got him down as the best MW i've ever seen. Hagler couldn't hold his jock. Deal with it.

Haters gonna hate, no matter if GGG goes up in weight and he beats Ward, Usyk, A.J , WIlder, Fury and Parker in the same night.

I think unifying the mw division and beating Canelo is gonna make GGG 'The Man' in boxing. Then he can say to all FUCK OFF and retire! :OhYes:
