Yes, he is definitely different, as many others with similar background, amateur experience and education level. They were taught to have an utter respect to refs and not argue with them.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:What does Broner have to do with anything. I'm saying inside the ring when it comes to the referee Wladimir is no different from any fighter and will protest and complain like all of the others. I've never seen Broner be particularly bad for that either.boxing_rocks wrote:So, you are saying that Wlad is no different than let's say Broner ? LOLTheDarkDestroyer wrote:
Beyond idiotic.
I can't think of a specific incident but I guarantee you he has. He is a boxer, and he's no different than any other. He didn't offer protest because like in all his stoppage losses he was finished.

Garbage stoppage. Wlad's only chance at that point was to wait for Joshua to punch himself out like he always does when committing himself. But it's still unlikely Wlad would've finished him since he let Joshua off the hook earlier on. Same thing would've played out. Doesn't excuse this garbage stoppage still.
Re: Joshua vs Klitchko stoppage?

None of this big stupid clubbing swings got in. No idea what Klitchko had left, but had the ref let that go Joshua would have been punched out, again.
Re: Joshua vs Klitchko stoppage?
I don't agree that a championship fight means that a referee shouldn't protect the boxers inside the ring and stop when appropriate but I do agree that the fight was stopped a tad too early. I know what people will say....he was knocked down twice already, how could that be early? The last exchange on the ropes before the stoppage, nothing was landing from Joshua. Wlad was blocking every single punch. Nothing was getting in. So the fight was stopped after about 10 missed punches. I do NOT like to see a fight stopped like that especially as great as this one was from the start.Heretic wrote:What do you think about the stoppage at the end of Joshua vs Klitchko?
Wlad went down from really hard uppercut and was clearly hurt. He got up only to go down a second time soon after. He got up again and Joshua was shooting on all cylinders and chased him to the ropes. Wlad was not throwing anything back but was defending himself well. One minute to go on the round and the referee stopped the fight.
There are couple of ways the fight could have gone without the stoppage. First is the one where Joshua gets a good shot in and finishes the fight with KO.
Another way it could have gone is Wlad survives to fight in the 12 round against potentially gassed Joshua.
In my own opinion the championship fight should not be decided by the referee.
How do you see the stoppage?
Was it good or not?

..a tad too early? maybe..but I'd rather have it a tad too early than a tad too late..legit stop imo..
