Its a good fight.
But Brook headlining with "around 27,000 or 28,000" fans in a stadium and doing good numbers on PPV, I just cant see it...
Over 17,000 tickets sold on the first day.
I still can't see it doing 27/28k sold tickets and doing good numbers on PPV...
I think it'll piss 27k tickets I really do
PPV numbers I'm not so sure, can't see it breaking records by a long way but I predict solid numbers
Even though I have picked Brook I want Spence to win.
I've been a fan of brook for years but I am just sick of Kell Brooks career. What's Hearn going to say if Kell wins. "Khan khan Khan khaaaaaan! " Manny, Thurman blah blah blah. He has consistently shown he can not deliver a proper fight at the top level for Kell which is not mandated. The Golovkins fight was a savage mismatch Brook had zero chance of winning people know this and people didn't want it.
I have never doubted Brooks ability and he is British boxings biggest waste of talent since I have followed the sport.
If Errol Spence wins then the Thurman fight will definitely happen then we are closer to an undisputed champion which is what I want. Brook wins well I still can't see the big fights happening and then just more bollocks regarding the Khan fight which I am sick to death of.
Surely this is the big fight for Kell though ? Americas big hope and a highly rated hot shot who's favourite to take care of Brook, even in his own back yard.
If Brook is sensational or if he wins a great fight I,m sure I'll be back on the bandwagon.
Like Naandrew I was a supporter but just got fed up. The withdrawals against good opponents, the demands keeping him out of a big fight, the dull mandatories which he's never injured for... and selling out to fight Golovkin
The stupid strategy against Golovkin, which allowed Brook to APPEAR pretty good but to basically get his eye socket smashed in, in the first minute of the fight, and the corner who were already ready to pull him out.
Spence is definitely the right fight. Brook did look very big in photos. He's never been able to maintain a fast pace so hopefully his hand speed, timing and ringcraft will not let him down.

i know what you mean about his career but i think uk boxers can make a better living than the lads from the states without having to push so hard. they are bigger fish in a smaller pond.i think once the bank balance grows a lot of uk boxers lose the hunger or maybe by that time they realise just how hard a game it is at the top level so try and take the easier options . a lot of it has to be down to managers/promoters trying to extend their own earnings from the top lads as well. it is a shame because there were a load of great fights to be made with brook.
Brook won't make the weight at the official weigh-in. It'll end up a (semi) title fight, Spence will win the title if he's successful but if Brook wins he'll have to vacate.
If in the unlikely event of Brook killing himself to make the weight he'll be stopped around the 4th or 5th round and then the excuses will start.
Ive changed my mind a few times over this one, I think it will go right down to the wire but I'm siding just towards Spence Jr nicking a razor thin decision, I think he just be a bit too fresh and sharp for Brook, Kell's no slouch himself but I think slight margins edge in Spence's favour, its a massive step up for Spence and he hasn't fought since blowing away Bundu in about August, there's a chance that Brook could be too experienced for him
If this fight took place last year I would've went with Brook but with moving up to 160 then coming back down when he's always struggled to make 147 it could trouble Brook and he might have lost a bit of snap back at WW, being at home will favour Brook as far as support and judging concerned so its all fine margins but I reckon it will be high end boxing from 2 quality operators, who are sharp, accurate and punch with authority
I'm rooting for Brook but just feel Spence will just nick it, he's a class act

I have a strong feeling that Brook might get stopped with body shots. The weight cut combined with Spence being a strong body puncher gives me this belief. Don't see him getting stopped with head shots as he's always shown a good chin. Golovkin didn't even manage to drop him despite breaking his face so I can't see Spence being able to do it with head shots.
Think you're a little harsh on Brook's career - I agree with the same frustrations that his natural talent is better than his resume, but I don't think it's down to Brook or even fast Eddie tbh. The GGG matchup wouldn't have been the huge moneyspinner you imagine without mass appeal, and I think to throw Brook in with him actually says more about how hard it has been for Brook to get the big fights. He didn't draw much of a crowd for a long time and was in the 'who needs him' club in my opinion. He reminds me of Carl Froch a little bit - I think he has massive kahunas and would fight anyone but wasn't the best draw. Froch's career would have been viewed very similarly before the Super 6 fights made the top players get together.
Hopefully with the GGG fight and now taking Spence (he could easily have used the weight issue to move up and fight Liam Smith for a big payday) the big fights will come for Brook. I can see why Spence is such a dangerous opponent, but his record has literally no one of note on it and Brook could be a big wake-up call for him.... I hope!!
