Tank Is The Future!

Post by bnovelist »

Did ya'll just see that? He totally RAPED Walsh in front of his hometown fans in brutal fashion! What shocked me the most was his speed! He's a cross

between Floyd and Tyson! I'm excited about Tank! :box: :box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL0w ... lMkC_FCieY

He looks pretty special, if he can stay away from the "Thug Life" ting he can go a very long way.

He said in a interview that he was moving to Vegas, Floyd will be a great influence on him. Tank is outright lethal and dangerous! He'll beat Loma

if the fight happens 2-3yrs from now. Tank is something else!

His destruction of Pedraza was very impressive as well.

How long can he make 130? Only 22, and already needed three attempts at making weight. I suppose it could've just been a miscalculation on his end though..

The guys at 135 are significantly taller, although he's got the type of speed to mitigate that.

Marv, you picked Easter to KO Loma, do you think he'd do the same to Davis?

He's a great talent. I think he needs to stay at 130 for as long as he can, he's pretty short even at that weight, I doubt he'll be able to handle guys much bigger than 135 so he'd best enjoy a lengthy reign at 130 if he can. He's definitely very fun to watch though.

He just needs to avoid Loma. Otherwise, the future is bright.

From the sound of it they'll be keeping it fairly light for him for the time being...as light as it can be kept for a defending titlist at least.

He only missed weight by 2oz., so not much issue there yet.

I don't think Davis is ready for Garcia or Easter yet. At 130 I think Loma would mitigate his speed the way he was able to neutralize Gary Russell Jr. If they fought right now, but he is a very explosive fighter with massive upside. In four years he might be unbeatable.

Not 'SO' future like Floyd and others are saying, as if Gervonta was 100% Floyd's substitute. From a technical view, he is good, has the skills to be a complete all around boxer and to sustain his "0" for some fights against C and B class boxers, doing it and gaining experience he won't go further than 25-0 even fighting a few A class boxers and ducking a few others, he is not so super special, he hesitates sometimes to punch and counter punch, he opens sometimes his defense to get punched between other flaws to 'stone'. To be more realistic to his close raising situation, he can win most guys of top10 of his class but he won't sustain his "0" until he faces the winner of Miura x Berchelt and even less Lomachenko.

Walsh got a stupid defeat trying to clinch when he even had got a hard punch in the 3rd round when he could move, dodge or defend but in his 2nd attempt to clinch in the same round that he ate a punch from Davis that wouldn't give a clinch and took the KO, too stupid.

Defeating Walsh doesn't make Gervonta the future.

No but the way he done it was impressive. I was rooting for Walsh tonight and I actually rate him as a very good fighter himself but Davis made it look effortless. I liked his whole demeanour from the ring walk. Confident kid and he'll take some beating. I'd like to see him v Loma as soon as possible!

I mean he looked good and I am excited by him, but he just fought a guy who hasn't really been past European level yet...

I will wait til he fights someone who is decent at world level before reserving judgement on him being the future of boxing.

Future of boxing is too far, but I think he's a top 2 talent at 130. The combo of speed and power is among the best right now...

Davis is legit. He's Errol Spence legit. He's Terence Crawford legit. These are special fighters.

Indeed

Not sure what is on Walsh's record that makes beating him evidence for such lofty status.
