Be interesting to see how far people's predictions are off/on. Some are saying most people with any sense recognise it's a circus act but others predict the interest is massive and the combination of MMA/UFC fans and gullible casuals will make this the biggest PPV ever. Currently Mayweather - Pacquiao holds the PPV record with 4.6 million buys. If YouTube can be used as a measuring stick, some press conferences of Mayweather McGregor event have over 4 million views.
I think it won't surpass Mayweather - Pacquiao but will do well. Circa 4 million buys. What say ye all?

1. There are many millions not getting any/much sex
2. There are many millions who pretty much have no social life (social media and work don't count)
3. There are many millions who are suckers for marketing
4. There are many millions who have chronic FOMO

This PPV will smash the record.
Im going to agree with you. This will be the biggest ppv of all time imo. You have 2 type of fans who will want this, boxing and mma. mma is effing big and they will be hammering this event like no other. Boxing hardcore fans who buy any ppv and those who just want to view the circus will also hammer this event . Then you will have the curious who will buy it just because of the talk at work and the pr.
These days almost every other person I meet reckons they are a cage fighter having done martial arts for a few years- so I reckon they will all buy it- so I think the figures will be high
A lot of people who have heard of Mayweather in the UK, casual fans, won't be inspired by Floyd's performances over the years. PPV for what?
The hardcore fans, see the real picture - look at the shape Floyd's in right now - the fight is a mismatch - Money grab by all concerned.
McGregor shakes things up a bit with his UK support. How big is that support though? I don't think it's all that.
It will smash 1M here. It's huge.
If you buy this fight, you are buying the hype, pure and simple. It'll be a poor contest but certainly entertaining before the ring action starts.

Btw £19.50 has been decided for the uk.
Fans of neither boxing or mma will make up the majority of these buys.

The hardcore fan argument is pretty questionable. I would be a possibly classed as a hardcore fan but that doesn't mean I am not going to watch the fight. I am going to try to go somewhere that will show the fight as I want to watch the fight to see how Conor fares and also because he is an Irishman fighting one of the greatest boxers of our era.
Just read a thread in current scene by samdance about talent being a myth and now think anything is possible!
It's just puzzling to me that someone so dedicated in the art of focused practice can waste his 10,000 hours slaving over a thread minute by minute for days on end.
