MMA fans + Boxing fans = 3,000,000 (minus Boxing purists)

General public = at least another million or two

Recent UFC events bombed completely in terms of PPV sales. That's a pretty good indicator that people are saving up on the McGregor fight. The logic is sound: why drop 60 bucks on a mediocre UFC event if you can get the hottest commodity of the sport for 100 bucks?

Will the Irish origin of Conor be the most important reason for Americans of Irish origin to buy PPV ?

Yeah i forgot about that. That from 2 sport will tune in

Therefore 2,5 too low.

Also promo was crazy. This circus will be watched by 3,5-4,5 mill people.

I'm 3/4 Irish ancestry but consider myself 100% American and not "Irish-American". I wont pay a penny but will watch it on free streamlink with my Mexican boxing buddies. The most I usually pay is $5 to help chip in on a PPV if the host is paying for it. That's what most Mexican/Mex-American fans do...pack the house out & get everyone to chip in!! :salut:

That's the way I like to watch Ppv cards. Everyone brings a dish and drinks and do a big pot luck bbq.
Good time good memories

Agreed. Boxing events should be social occasions. That's one reason why most of my boxing buddies are Mexican ancestry. A PPV (or even a big HBO/Showtime card) makes a great opportunity to build a gathering of friends/family...especially if it includes knowledgeable fight fans!! :yay:

Less than 1 million.

Just because there is hype doesn't mean people are willing to pay for it. After all, where is your Tesla?

Those curious about it will watch it the following day on the interwebs

Jones/Cormier II is thought to have done in the region of 860,000 buys. So, I think it's more a case that the UFC audience will pay for fights they want to see and not pay for fights they don't. People wanted to see Cormier/Jones II and they paid for it. If they also want to see Mayweather/McGregor then they'll pay for that too.

The decisive factors :

1. Extremely strong hype
2. Regular pro-Floyd's fans
3. Regular anti-Floyd's fans
4. Conor's Irish origin

Personally, I consider this match as a farce, but I will watch, because I don't have to pay. Believe it or not, it is free, here on Balkan.

I didn't catch Conor's weight. Floyd weighed in at 149.5

Conor was acting like a douche screaming in Floyd's face as they stared each other down.

EDIT: Just heard him say 153

The crossover appeal of the biggest boxing draw and the biggest mma draw will have the casual fans of all sports talking about 'the fight' at the water cooler. I bet there are more celebrities there live than any fight but the fotc.

What are you talking about, Tesla is by far the biggest selling car in its price range. It is though luxury car and not everyone can afford it. If we base this on Tesla success it should make 8 million buys.
