McGregor robbed in Mayweather fight.

Post by Freedom »

Boxing is really turning sour, early stoppage by ref. We demand a rematch. If McGregor were in there with a hard puncher he would get seriously hurt, lets hope his Lomochenko introduction to boxing is over.

He was done, the ref saved him, Mayweather could have done that all day. Mayweather delivered on his pre-fight promises, very nerve racking for boxing fans though.

An anti-climactic stoppage doesn't mean a bad stoppage.

Mayweather was holding back from the git, give the people their moneys worth. A few of the undercards were really good fights. Germonta may have exposed himself tonight.

To be fair, I didn't think he was saying it was early per se, just saying he'd rather have been allowed to continue until he was knocked down.

Yes all the kids in the neighborhood would be thumping their chests that their MMA or whatever fighter beat the best boxer ever, that would be nauseating. :OhYes:

Some people won't go down until they're unconscious though how long you let him get tagged standing up before you stop it

Ya, that's one of my pet peeves....some people think a knockdown absolutely must occur in order for a stoppage to be justified. I had a quick look on Twitter, and the first post I saw was essentially 'but how can you stop a fight when there's are no knockdowns?'

How about when one guy is staggering around tge ring, sagging on the ropes, and not punching back? He was an exhausted punching bag...

I'm just glad reality showed up in the fight, and Floyd won. If he'd lost. I was probably gonna be done with sports

I'm more concerned about them cutting the ninth round short. It's been happening a lot recently, unless the screen clocks are off? They signalled for ten seconds left at 21 seconds and called it about 7 seconds later. :maybe:

This is why it's Important for refs to stop fighters.

He did well tbf considering he was a debutant.

Fight was over in r3 though, Floyd took the front foot and it was a beating.

My fandom of Sports. If Floyd had lost I'd have been done with sports. Especially if he lost the way it was looking like he was possibly gonna lose early...by throwing it.

That's some heavy emotional investment! What would you have done without boxing?

I don't know. I'd figure out something though.

For the record I didn't feel that way prior to the fight actually beginning. I just felt that way when the fight had started, and Floyd lost the first 3 rounds, making me believe he was intentionally throwing it. If he'd thrown it. I just couldn't look at this sport with integrity anymore, and I couldn't justify wasting any more of my life on it.

When McGregor landed an uppercut early in the 1st or 2nd Rd I was a bit worried that McGregor might actually win

Yeah I think we all knew McGregor would win the early rounds but that Floyd's experience combined with McGregor's lack of experience & stamina would be his downfall. That's pretty much the script boxing experts predicted. Great day for boxing!!!!!!!!! :o
