Pacquaio vs McGregor

Post by IKSRTFO »

What Happens? Pacquiao is past it. McGregor showed he was capable but lacks any fundamentals.

Mayweather was past it too and did not even need to sweat to stop McGregor - Pacquiao wins by KO

Probably an actually good idea for a match-up. This hadn't occurred to me, but this is one of the biggest payday opportunities available to each of these two fighters.

I voted for Pacquiao by KO. If you can't imagine how this match-up plays out, then watch Pacquiao - Margarito.

C'mon, Pacman would annihilate him.

I think McGregor would beat Malignaggi easy though. Not sure he has any business with guys this size though, he's a middle or supermiddle.

You're right about the commercial aspect though, only Khan or Pacquiao could work as a PPV opponent imo.

Mcgregor by tko. Pacquiao's chin is not like Mayweather's.

Lightning won't strike twice though.

What I mean by that, is the public won't be overly-excited about seeing McGregor get walked down and dominated by another much smaller past-their-prime opponent that is also a dead-cert first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. It wouldn't generate enough money.

I do believe that McGregor versus Malignaggi could do good numbers though, because Paulie is a character that markets himself really well, he can trash-talk, he already has a rivalry with Conor and the public seem fascinated about their sparring "story".

I also believe that fight fans would consider a bout between McGregor and Malignaggi as a competitive affair, whereas Conor would be perceived as a massive underdog engaging in a mismatch against Pacquiao.

There's been about 25 different fighters where Pacquiao took more punishment than Mayweather ever has.

And that's why his chin is weaker than Mayweather, plus he's old now.

The public seem to love the WWE style of self-promotion and Manny Pacquiao is incapable of that, because his command of the English language isn't good enough.

Remember, Conor's fans aren't boxing fans.

They duped the public. I doubt if it happens again, despite how gullible people are.

Who cares. McGregor has the boxing skills of a novice amateur boxer. I never want to see him in a boxing ring again.
While he made the fight somewhat entertaining only because he lasted longer than most boxing people thought he would. I have seen hundreds or thousands of more entertaining fights before than this one including amateur fights.

He had a huge size advantage over Mayweather also, but it didn't translate into being more powerful, since the UFC fighter couldn't punch his way out of a crisp bad with those dodgy Hong Kong Phooey style Karate chops he kept throwing.

After watching the fight, its obvious Floyd could have ended it when he wanted. Like Oscar said, its no coincidence that Floyd wanted to place a bet on himself for $400K ending it before the end of the 10th. Pacquiao or a couple of dozen at 147-154 would have ended it inside 5 rounds.
