Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned
It is a clear corruption and it is not a first time i'm shocked with her scorecard. She is that kind of score judge that I knew seconds after she was announced that her card gonna be dubious. she's ''having a bad day'' definitely too often. What she does it's something that needs to be convicted for.

You'd think a bent judge would score it close, more like 115-113 to not make it obvious

I'm not into MMA but I heard she also scores MMA fights and with embarrasing decisions too. If Adelaide Byrd is not a corrupt person then being a score judge in boxing is the greatest job in the world - you can do what you want and nobody cares.

I had someone who is deeply in the game tell me before the fight look for draw no matter what. Even Mexican fans where shocked by her card. Byrd should never judge a fight again. Embarrassing black eye to the sport.

I'm just rewatching this fight now, already seen 5 rounds again and I wonder how it's possible she scored it on Canelo's favour? she's one of the worst score judges ever
Re: Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned
I would demand the fair treatment in the prison for Mrs Byrd.

What sort of compelling evidence can you cite that undermines the NSAC’s assertion about Adalaide Byrd simply having a “bad day”?dagilechia wrote:Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned

Can you prove that she was financially rewarded for providing her questionable scorecard?
Have you thought about filing an official complaint with law enforcement officers in Nevada and providing them with information that they can use in court?
Can you please provide several examples of Adalaide Byrd’s previous “bad days”, since you’ve claimed that they “definitely” happen far “too often”?

Round 7, Don Trella somehow had it for Canelo, even Byrd scored it for GGG. these are one of the worst cards recently.
It is evindent for me that she and the whole state commision is corrupt - if not they should ban her from judging fights and start investigation.

I seriously wondered if she somehow got the fighters confused.

I had this fight 117-111 for Golovkin, with GGG winning his rounds more visibly than Canelo did.
Actually Golovkin-Jacobs seems to me a significantly closer fight than this.

Re: Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned
Bob Bennett, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, came to ringside after the fight to address the controversy of Byrd's scorecard.
"Adalaide, in my estimation, is an outstanding judge," Bennett said. "She's done over 115 title fights and/or elimination bouts. She does a great deal of our training, takes a lot of our judges under her wing. I think being a judge is a very challenging position.
"Unfortunately, Adalaide was a little wide. I'm not making any excuses. I think she's an outstanding judge, and in any business, sometimes you have a bad day. She saw the fight differently [than the other judges]. It happens."
(ESPN)
Glad to know they're taking this seriously. The fact that she trains other judges is even better.
"a little wide" ??
"outstanding judge"??
" bad day" ??
Viva Las Vegas... and goodbye boxing credibility.

Is BB a politician ? The great aššhole, in any case. His father had a bad day when he had made him.Thomastearns wrote:Bob Bennett, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, came to ringside after the fight to address the controversy of Byrd's scorecard.

i agree with Mannix, i knew that too, i was not even surprised hearing her score. maybe boxing needs to change its scoring system but i dont have idea how a new system should work.

Re: Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned
Its absolutely high time the FBI looked once more into the way boxing is run, high powered lawyers or not. The whole structure of appointing judges and referees needs immediate overhauling. The fighters can't, won't or are too scared to bite the hand that feeds them. Or robs them.
It could have been even worse, but I guess they wanted a draw all along to fuel the rematch. At the end of the day Golovkin kept his belts and both fighters got paid handsomely.
It's the fans that get screwed, infinitely more so those who had money riding on the result. Records and stats do matter to us, as does the integrity of boxing itself.

I think byrd has a mummy complex. I think she views canelo as a young beautiful man and has somekind of feeling towards him.
Women should not allowed to judge boxing fights. They are way to emotional and arent able to judge something in a cold headed equal way. Remember that woman that scored a 100 % clear lewis rd for evander?

If only it was that simple. Unfortunately the vast majority of corrupt officials are men.Jip wrote:I think byrd has a mummy complex. I think she views canelo as a young beautiful man and has somekind of feeling towards him.

Adalaide Byrd is very clearly CORRUPT (and/or) INCOMPETENT!!!
SHE SHOULD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY FROM OFFICIATING FIGHTS.

I must agree with you, CJ Ross, Adelaide Byrd and the one you mentioned, Eugenia Williams, are good examples and proofs of what you said.Jip wrote:I think byrd has a mummy complex. I think she views canelo as a young beautiful man and has somekind of feeling towards him.

Still, I can't believe that someone as experienced in scoring fights as she is can be that incompetent (even if it's a woman). But if she really is that incompetent then why not banned from officiating fights (or at least shouldn't officiate that kind of BIG fights) time ago? she and/or boxing commision are corrupt. and so generally boxing is.

You don't know enough about female judges to draw such harsh opinions.
Put it this way, if a black male judge submitted a dubious scorecard, does that mean that black males shouldn't be allowed to score fights?
What if I cited an example of a white Eastern European judge submitting a dodgy scorecard? Should we ban them also?

Re: Mrs Adelaide Byrd should be convicted and imprisoned
I also wonder how funny would be scorecards if boxing introduces a system of 5 score officials with 2 widest scores being rejected. I can see, especially if Adelaide Byrd is one of these officials, fights where these 2 rejected scorecards are for example 118-110 on ''A'' fighter's favour and 118-110 for ''B'' fighter. Then people who don't understand boxing could think the ''scoring'' is kind of a draw, lottery, and people that want to be boxing fans may feel resigned and disinterested as they can't understand how it works. It happens even now with current system of 3 judges, imagine a person that is watching his first boxing fight in his live (dediced to get into boxing because of his friend recommendation or something like that) and he sees fighter A clearly won the fight but fighter B wins by unanimous decision. He would probably never watch boxing again.
