I’m not sure if Deontay Wilder has received any payment yet from the lawsuit, since legal proceedings appear to be ongoing. What I’ve read is that the money is still in escrow.

Four weeks ago, a New York court denied Andrey Ryabinsky's WOB’s “Motion for Judgment as a Matter of Law or in the alternative, a New Trial”, due to its belief that the jury for the Wilder-Povetkin lawsuit did its job in evaluating the evidence and the credibility of witnesses and based on it was able to produce the jury verdict.

Andrey Ryabinsky's World of Boxing still has the opportunity to appeal and I don’t believe that they will abandon their lawsuit.

I read somewhere that prior to the Wilder-Povetkin lawsuit that both parties agreed to limit the case to one lawsuit, which was done to limit the court costs and fees. So part of these costs me be deducted from Wilder’s compensation.
thx mate. was wondering about an appeal :TU:

My splits would be:

55-45 AJ vs Wilder
60-40 AJ vs Parker

And I'm being generous to the Yank and the Aussie.

I think you may have misinterpreted the content of my post.

I wasn’t disputing the fact that Wilder was awarded $5m in damages in February.

However, it seems that this money is still in escrow, because World of Boxing (Ryabinsky/Povetkin = WOB) are continuing legal proceedings.

Four weeks ago, a New York court rejected their motion for a completely new trial, but WOB still have the right of appeal of the initial verdict of the original case, which they are likely to use.

Also, due to the fact that both Wilder-Povetkin parties agreed to limit the case to one lawsuit, to minimise expenses, some of these costs will likely be shared by both parties and deducted from Deontay’s $5m damages windfall (if he ever receives it).

Copies of the actual legal documents, where I obtained my information, can be obtained from the ‘MMA Payout’ website, since they are in the public domain.

Is this quote in reference to Whyte or Joshua fight
Correct.. He did ask for 7 vs. Whyte..

Joshua, he is going to want more. I think no more than $4 million would be acceptable vs. Whyte..
I thought 3 mil was good money for wilder personally! He was never getting 7 to face him
He probably would have taken three without options. He also had stiverne to deal with. Hearn is very good and he has easy work with someone like Wilder. Eddie doesn't want him fighting Joshua without a piece of him.

That's why Wilder barked back 7 million. As I've said many times, he'd be better off with hearn but this whole he fears Whyte from the Wilder retards is just another part of their idiotic agenda.

I don't know the exact details. He's loyal to DiBella and Al, Lou certainly isn't opposed to co-promotional deals that make him money. Whyte and 3 million certainly isn't enough to deliver options to another promoter.

Hearn offered Wilder a $4m guaranteed fight purse, plus US television revenue, to fight Whyte, with the winner gaining an opportunity to face Anthony Joshua.

Deontay Wilder rejected Eddie Hearn’s offer stating that he expected somewhere between $7m to $10m to face Whyte, when he explained the following to BS.com:

“I can definitely see where that happens,” Wilder told BS.com of facing Whyte. “It happens when Eddie raises that price. That’s when it can happen. If he can come up with $7 [million], whether it comes out of his pocket or not, we’ll listen. … The Dillian Whyte fight, it can happen. But it’s gonna take a little bit more than what they’re talking about. Let them raise it up to $7 to $10 [million] and let’s talk. For $4 million and then they’re talking about me coming over there and all that – the thing about it is I don’t need Dillian Whyte.”

'The Bronze Bomber' was only paid $900K when he fought Gerald Washington. He received $1.4m for the Arreola fight, $1.5m to face Szpilka and $1.4m for the Duhaupas bout. Wilder’s purse for his first bout against Stiverne was only $1m, which is pretty poor considering he was on the proverbial A-side at the time.

Question - when Wilder says "7 million, whether it comes out of Eddie's pocket or not".

Would the money Hearn is offering right now not amount to that? He keeps saying like 3.5 million dollars, plus American TV money. Would that not amount to 7 or more? Or is it just small cash?

For a Whyte fight in the UK? That wouldn't be close to a million.

I see, I didn't know what amount the American TV would come to.
If that's the case though, 7 million ain't that far off, if they can get Wilder to just shimmy down a bit, stop being a little bitch, they might just get it done.

But if this does get done in the UK, it's gonna have to be PPV, however will they have the money for an undercard of sufficient quality? I doubt it. Can't see Wilder/Whyte selling as much as Eddie thinks, but then again, he's the Don.

Wow, we are still discussing Wilder's purse instead of Hearn's penis

If hearn stopped being a little bitch and insisting on multifight options it could easily get done. That's the only reason he's offering big money in the first place.

It's time to ignnnore Wilder and his media fanboys completely, let him have fun with his doping bullshit and his cars full of drugs, he won't fight anyone anyway. He fights 10 of his friends, or some bums for free, that will lay down for free, but doesn't actually dare to fight anyone reasonable. Whenever he meets someone like that, he asks ridiculous demands which clearly makes it an obvious duck, or he only accepts if he knows the fight doesn't happen.

He says it all the time. I'm amazed that Wilder has Floyd level hate around without even accomplishing anything worth hating him over.
