Lee McGregor
Lee McGregor
Alex Arthur on his latest IFL interview has revealed Lee MCGregor to turn down the commonwealth games next summer and turn pro, seen on Lee Facebook that he’s been training with Josh Taylor so likely he will sign with cyclone. This boys a class act and may well be better than josh so to see the two of them in the same stable they might be about to bring back big shows to Scotland again. Not so sure about Shane training him though
Re: Lee McGregor
That’s the problem with signing with cyclone but same manager /promoter and must take Shane as trainer . Kids a class act like you say wish him all
The best .
The best .
Re: Lee McGregor
I'll keep my eye out for him. Where's he from?
Name rings a bell.

Re: Lee McGregor
Can I asked why Shane training is such a bad thing?
I assumed he was a solid coach.

Re: Lee McGregor
I don't keep up to date with whats going on in the amateurs anymore. However, I have watched Lee McGregor fight a few times in the past. I think folk expecting him to be anything like Josh Taylor or surpass him are setting themselves and others up for disappointment.

All the best to lee hope he can do big things

Re: Lee McGregor
I watched Joe Ham in the ams a few times and always thought he'd be better suited to the pros. He's been alright so far but expecting to hopefully kick on next year.Supremo wrote:I don't keep up to date with whats going on in the amateurs anymore. Understandable like.bigped wrote:Your coach is ment to have the fighters best interest at heart protect them and advise when needed ; won’t get that with Shane when his dad is your manager and his brother is your promoter , his loyalties will always be with them and he will do and say what they tell him to do, it’s all in house for the family just the way it is .TheGingerBomber wrote:Can I asked why Shane training is such a bad thing?

Joe Ham was actually who I was thinking about when I made that post. Joe Ham is a decent boxer and as you say he’s done alright so far. But I don’t think anyone is putting him forward as a future world star- which is what they are doing with Taylor.
I think McGregors future career will be more similar to joe Ham’s than. josh taylor’s That no disrespect at all intended to any of the 3 of them- they’ll all do far more than almost everyone that posts on here or the vast majority of anyone who ever laces up a pair gloves eve will.
Re: Lee McGregor
I think Ham definitely has a British title in him but beyond that I don't know yet. We'll need to see how he does as he's brought along before making any bold predictions. I haven't been impressed at all with Flynn in the pros so far. Loved watching him in the Commonwealth games though.Supremo wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:I watched Joe Ham in the ams a few times and always thought he'd be better suited to the pros. Seen it was announced Lee has signed with cyclone.
Good luck to him and his team, good to see another Edinburgh fighter get a deal with a primoter who has a tc deal and get a bit of exposure

Interestingly, I just saw that Lee's brother, Connor, is coming back on the Meadowbank BC show next month after several years out.
Re: Lee McGregor
He's down to make his debut next week on the Taylor undercard. Fingers crossed they show him on tv but I won't hold my breath.
