Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
Not 'who is the best fighter'. But simply who has the most power in the right hand for one punch KDs/KOs.
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
I think Price probably had more power in terms of a single shot. He folded a few folk on his way up whereas AJ tends to blast em out with combos.
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
If they were to chuck a straight right on a pressure pad, it’s a bit of a guess but I think pricey may edge it.
Joshua has better speed and his hooks and uppercuts are bigger

Price.
AJ doesn't put people out cold, he just throws a flurry and one of Eddies refs jumps in to keep his ko record alive...

Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
The question is answered to me by the level of people they've beaten or not beaten in David's case. If Price had equivalent right hand power to Joshua I'd think it would've bailed him out of a loss a time or two.

Not many people are putting people out cold. It was clean shots that put Martin on his seat and love, it was flurries that forced the stoppage vs Wlad and breazealewesshaw1985 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 13:57The last man out cold was Dillian Whyte...Ossyrules wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 13:50Lol 1 quick decision vs Takam and now his career has Home town refs sorting out his koswesshaw1985 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 13:43 Price.

My point is basically apart from Takam I don’t think refs have pulled opponents early
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
I think there’s more too it than that to judge there power
Joshua is definitely superior in every other area physical and mental that’s makes him basically much better. Price is just a big right hand that’s done after 5 rounds
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
Right hand hasn't seemed all that potent in the first 5 either. Not against quality opposition.
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
As there’s more to boxing than just having a big punch
For me prices power in his right is clear, I’m not convinced it’s bigger than Joshua’s as per my first post, but no dramas
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
I realize that, but how can you even compare the power between the two when one guy has won all of his bouts via KO, and stopped High level opposition and you're talking about another guy who's been knocked out by every Top 15 or better opponent he's ever faced, and been beaten by lesser than that on occasion as well.
Has he beaten a fighter better than Top 30 at any point in his career?
I mean you gotta have some comparable KO wins at the very least to say the guy has comparable right hand power.
Guys that have cracking power are able to get big wins even if they have a lot of flaws. Look at Earnie Shavers for instance.
He blew up after 5 rounds, and often didn't take a punch all that well, but he had hellacious power, and knocked out some big names.
Price knocked out some palookas, and got beat by every decent fighter he ever faced.

You don’t need to convince me that price isn’t very good, but none of that is an argument vs power.gilgamesh wrote: ↑16 Nov 2017, 14:17I realize that, but how can you even compare the power between the two when one guy has won all of his bouts via KO, and stopped High level opposition and you're talking about another guy who's been knocked out by every Top 15 or better opponent he's ever faced, and been beaten by lesser than that on occasion as well.

Having power and having the skill and mental fortitude to land it are two different things.
Trying to determine and be specific who actually had more power is pointless and a guessing game, I really don’t mind you or anyone think Joshua, but price also had a wicked crack on him
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
I'll agree to that much. Price has good power in his right hand.
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
price not scoring as many stoppages and having losses has nothing or little to do with his power, which is plenty. hes just not as good all round as joshua. not as tough physically or mentality, is scared of commiting like josh does, even worse stamina and no second wind despite joshuas stamina being questioned, freezes up and so gets hit more etc. but power i think is comparable in the right.
put it this way, if we took away joshs power in that right and gave him prices, and thats all we exchanged, i dont think aj would be a lesser fighter than he was before. and if he were lesser it wouldnt be by much at all.
price hasnt been winning at as high a level but the right clearly does serious damage when it lands. and he did put thompson down hard and hammer down, so even in losses hes showed power. but the thing is that joshua is so much more than one punch, at least compared to price. if price had ajs toughness, combo punching aggressiveness, and second wind i think he wouldve finished thompson second time around and hammer.
but if my grandmother had wheels shed be a train.

Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
ill add though that i think being a combo puncher finisher lends itself more to standing stoppages. the refs see all those punches and get nervous and jump in, even if the guy is still up and not all the shots are getting through. whereas i feel a guy looking for one or two big shots doesnt put the same pressure on the ref and so the ref more likely to let it go until the opponent goes down.
Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
I think price has the harder one punch but joshua has the best variety of shots to take you out with,he will hit you with a barrage of 7,8,9 shots in a row,if price threw that many punches he would keel over himself

Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
These days it’s Joshua.
Price might hit harder on a punchbag but he’s so shot that in a fight with a live opponent, he doesn’t have the confidence to full commit to a massive single shot.
He’s power has become a tad overrated in time too. Once he stepped up he didn’t carry it as well. Couldn’t finish Thompson when he had him going and couldn’t finish Hammer either

Re: Price / Joshua - Most power in Right Hand
not finishing hurt opponents is also a stamina and mental issue for price. he didnt really follow up much vs either. hed gassed by halfway through the next round vs thompson (plus the kd came on bell so no more action that round), and hed already started gassing vs hammer when he dropped him.
just doesnt have the energy or confidence to really attack hard and keep it going. whereas aj just goes at it and puts together some of the best combos in the division when he smells blood
