iv always thought it makes sense to talk up opponents anyway. like say your nervous because theyre a big threat and could win.

talk them up as poo, then so what if you beat poo. though i suppose 'beef' is what the kids want these days.

This will be far more entertaining then spence Thurman due to the style clash. Thurman would box and end up running against Spence.

Could someone interpret this for me?

Damn ... Lamont Peterson VS Kell Brook would be a good fight.

As an entire career, I'd give a slight slight edge to Peterson.
I don't understand how Brook could be considered clearly better ...
wait a minute, he's British ... nuff said.

Brook is not fighting 147 again, imo.

The OP was a good read and makes me like Spence even more. He doesn't appear to be one of these brash young hood rats that will never concede that someone got the better of him. Here he's basically saying that Lamont could have cleaned his clock but chose not to and that's pretty cool to admit unless I'm reading into it a bit.

But again, let's let these fighters earn the accolades before calling them THE BEST in the division. Keith Thurman is the best WW in the world..plain and simple. He's earned it and it's his monicker to lose. So let's, oh i don't know, wait maybe until Spence actually defends his title once?!? Minigia, you fans are in such a rush to anoint a fighter as the best.

With that said, Spence/Peterson will be a great barometer for us fans to properly review how good this kid actually is. He could be the greatest, i don't know. But this should tell us a lot considering how many people Peterson has also been in there with.

I think when guys like Thurman, Porter, Garcia, Horn, Bradley, Vargas, Broner, Khan, Pacquiao, etc don't want to fight him, it speaks volumes. All have had excuses to not fight him. Even Crawford didn't sound excited about it, mentioning he was pretty sure Spence would be moving up. He would be willing though, but Arum may not be. Nice to see that Peterson is game.

You are right though, until someone dethrones Thurman, he can be considered the best. My guess is either Spence or Crawford will beat him, depending on who fights him first.

You may be right. I've seen a couple of post marriage/surgery interviews with Thurman and I didn't like what I was hearing from him. He was talking as if he'd already met his goal in the sport and that his mindset has changed since getting married. He's getting soft. It's amazing what that little triangle does to men ha? But Crawford, Thurman and Spence represent 3 fights that will and must happen in the future provided none of them falter unexpectedly in an upset.
