Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor?

Post by Enlightened-One »

Talks are allegedly underway to orchestrate an April 2018 bout between Pacquiao and McGregor.

Thoughts? :-?

Pac will knock him out even today. However, I don't believe, that McGregor will fight in near future, especially in boxing bout.

Conor made 1-3 million a fight in ufc.
In boxing against boxings superstars he can make 30-50 million if not more.
Of course conor would be stupid to turn down fights against mayweather, canelo or pacquiao.

The thing is when you have all those millions, you are more in a mood to spend them instead of going for more. Unless it appears, that all stocks are running out.

Why not?

They'll all be following Mayweather's lead now to try & make some easy money.

It's another joke fight, but unlike Mayweather, Pacquiao probably won't carry McGregor & will register his first KO in eons.

Easy KO win for Pacquiao. McGregor will take this fight because of $$$.

Manny would be foolish NOT to pursue a fight with McGregor. I would certainly look forward to it, and it would be a nice payday for him. It would be a better fight, and maybe a real one compared to the fake one we saw with Conor vs Floyd.

I would think the people getting screwed over the hardest here are MMA fans who are eager to see Conor return to the Octagon. I personally barely give a sh*t about the UFC so if he never steps into a cage again I don't care.

That being said, mismatches with him against aging ATG's isn't getting me excited either.

Pac would beat him real easy, and in an effort to one up Floyd would probably be going for the gusto early.

I think this fight is the best opportunity for both fighters, and they would have been dumb not to pursue it.

Who was it who said that 'it seems that over the hill world class boxers now see McGregor as a money filled pinata?' I'm paraphrasing.

I think that the Mayweather fight was a trick that will only work once. Since he was embarrassed by a retired, over 40 although recently elite fighter who looked far worse than he ever then any bout against any boxer who hasn't already looked beyond shot will be considered a foregone conclusion. If they do look beyond shot why would there be any demand?

Don’t think it will be nearly as popular. What’s the selling point? Maymac had best ufc striker v best boxer who was vulnerable due to age, size and retirement. MAC was proported to have power and his boxing skills were unseen, untested plus they both delivered verbally. Manny on the other hand is a faded boxing star coming off a loss, we have seen conor box now, hes coming off a loss. Fans of Conor would most likely like him to beat Paulie M, there would be hope and trash talk....although I’m not saying that that sells better.

Manny will score his first KO win in over 8 years. Crazy it's been that long.

Easy win for Manny. The guy Conor REALLY should fight is crude brawler Jeff Horn, which is a WINNABLE fight for McGregor, although he wouldnt get anywhere near the money he would to face a legit superstar.

Did wonder when Manny was tweeting him a couple of weeks back if this was coming.

If Manny vs McGregor is half as successful at McGregor vs Mayweather, it will still make Manny probably twice what he would make fighting anyone in boxing, plus be an easier fight. Talk about a no-brainer.

Manny is done. He was done July 2017.
Whoever fights Manny next gets something that will resemble the Cotto who fought Sadam Ali.

Real fighters should be offering Manny a 90/10 purse for a fight.
They will gain many fans after KO'ing Manny.

He was a winner in July 2017. Judges f*cked him. He'd stop Conor McGregor, and unlike Floyd I don't think he'd play around with him. Now granted Manny ain't got the killer instinct anymore, but I don't think he'd need it to stop Conor. He'd get him outta there around the 6th I figure.

Sorry buddy. It's 2017. Manny looked broken against a substitute teacher.
He can't take punishment anymore.

He also doesn't have that motor anymore.
That was the attribute that allowed him to keep bigger guys off of him.

Manny should either move down the 135 or retire.
He will get knocked out and victimized by any top fighter at 147 in 2018.

And you think Conor McGregor is one of those?

By the way, if you think I'm a big Manny fan, I'm not. I don't like him actually, but I thought he beat Jeff Horn.

I wouldn't favor Manny to beat any Top Welterweights at this stage. He'd still whip Conor McGregor's ass though.

I figure Pacquiao would win a decision... McGregor can be hit with straight shots because his stance is messed up and he has no world class boxing coach (He could easily afford one) to correct his stance - like, for instance Steward did for Wladimir Klitschko... If you don't get the coaching a well coached, talented boxer is going to mess you up.

But McGregor learned a lot from the Mayweather Fight... He learned he has no endurance and has to do roadwork... He learned what he gets hit with and he's going to make adjustments... McGregor landed more punches on Mayweather than Pacquiao did... He can't defend himself very well but he's a real good athlete... He'd do the weight better (154) and defend better so he would do a lot better than he did with Floyd - who he was able to reach.
