According to the New York Daily News, 2012 Olympian and light heavyweight contender Marcus Browne has had two arrests in four months, both on domestic violence charges.
The paper states that Browne was arrested Thursday on charges that he tried to bust through the doorway of his girlfriend's Staten Island apartment on March 30, three months after he was accused of punching her in the head.
Police sources told the paper that the victim is the 29-year-old mother of his daughter.
Browne, 27, was arrested for violating an order of protection when he allegedly damaged the door of her Clifton apartment.
“I am going to break the window if you don’t let me in!” he screamed at his girlfriend before damaging the door, according to court papers.
On December 28, police arrested him over accusations he attacked the same woman during an argument on December 12. He allegedly grabbing her by the arm and neck, then punching her in her right temple. She refused to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
He was charged with attempted assault and harassment and released without bail.
Cops charged him with criminal mischief, criminal contempt and harassment charges after his Thursday arrest. A judge ordered him held on $500 cash bail.
He is due back in Staten Island Criminal Court April 19 on both cases.
