Travelers at am shows, fair enough. Especially schoolboys. Worth noting the biggest kick off in Britain was directly linked to AJ's trainers brother. And he's not a "pikey".....

Whenever there’s a fight in the crowd do you always magically appear in a puff of smoke to vet the thing?

Ok, the one that was the lead story on the news and all papers. Can't think of many others that have been that well reported. What's Sheffield got to do with anything?jameswilson wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 08:09mickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 07:55 Travelers at am shows, fair enough. Especially schoolboys. When you watch these crowd fights, just look at the cowardly wankers who take cheap shots. They are stood away from the action until the one who's getting a kicking is hurt, then the jump forward to launch their assault.

Good point.
Possibly equally valid to point out that INSIDE the ring a cynical mismatch was taking place where a guy with no chance was brought in to face an unbeaten giant. Mismatches are a part of the sport, it's nothing new but in a way there is a parallel here between what happened inside the ring and outside of it.

Unfortunately in this world people fight, if you've got some sense you will fight for money, these dibs fight for free.
To stop it is simple, look how they did it at football, police, stewarding, cctv and then banning orders and nick.

Dinlos mate the lot of em if the police look into any of this and get hold of the cctv they could get banged up. Of course there are exceptions but getting banged up for something that ain’t trying to earn you money is stupid in my opinion

You loved the "walk heavy" saying, didn't you? It's not even a term I use. Denzil Browne said it about Paul Massey, who I'm sure you'll agree, walked heavy. Not heavy enough though.Datsue wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 09:03jameswilson wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 08:09mickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 07:55 Travelers at am shows, fair enough. Especially schoolboys. I attend at least one boxing show a week, mainly ams. I don't get my info from the Internet, so, yes, I probably do see more than most.
Re: Crowd trouble tonight
The kid on the right at 31 secs in. Only one throwing decent punches.
It don't happen at football because you have only 2 sides, the old bill are sh!t hot and will have your door off shortly after, and everybody's usually kettled in for big games anyway.
Boxing is hundreds of groups of Jonny Bravos. Maybe an actual police presence will be a deterrent?
Hard sentences are the answer. Worked for football. Nobody wants to do 2 years for a scuffle at the boxing.

Re: Crowd trouble tonight
Problem is the promoter would have to pay for the police like they do at football.
It needs looking at.
Proper Door Supervisors throughout the crowd would help, rather than the strewards they have, but they cost a lot more than the stewards do.
That said, 50% of SIA badged door supervisors are fornicating melons now anyway.
I wont take my kids to shows. I go to about 5 or 6 am shows in a year and maybe 10 or 11 pro shows. The only trouble I've seen at am shows is travellers.

Why's it worth noting? Even if it could be measured.mickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 07:55 Travelers at am shows, fair enough. Especially schoolboys. Worth noting the biggest kick off in Britain was directly linked to AJ's trainers brother. And he's not a "pikey".....

What did Joshua’s trainers brother do?
I’m assuming it’s a Simms as opposed to Mccracken

Re: Crowd trouble tonight
The McCrackens are well known amongst Birmingham football hooligans.
I think Simms has done some ducking and diving, ran some doors
Or are we talking about Sean Murphy? Isn't Murphy a traveller?
The most famous kick off boxing wise in Britain was during the BennGimenez fight.
United fans kicking off against Brum fans after the Foster/McCracken fight
I remember fighting in Dudley once, Spencer McCracken was fighting too, and there was more police there than supporters, knitted out in riot gear too! I asked one of them what was going on and they said they they always sent out a full team when the McCrackens were fighting

Brawl at Quigg/Munroe I
Fights everywhere at the Echo for the Bellew cruiserweight debut
Tommy Coyle fans and Mancs throwing chairs at Crolla/Barroso
Massive fight at Groves/Froch II
Groups fighting at Liam Williams v Liam Smith I
Couple of small fights at Prizefigter Welterweights when Glen Foot won
I’ve only been to a dozen or so shows live in my life and these spring to mind immediately. Booze and fighters with good followings from different cities seem to be the common factors.

Re: Crowd trouble tonight
The police are heavily financed and subsidised when its comes to policing football from the clubs themselves and the local authority. The premier league puts a huge onus on the clubs to manage security as a top priority. Plus the premier league rewards the police/prosecution financially for seeking football banning orders. Money talks and the premier league are so hell-bent on protecting the reputation of its product.SAPFO wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 13:30 The kid on the right at 31 secs in. Only one throwing decent punches.

The Hull Box Cup was cancelled last weekend due to threats of violence.
Questions have been raised with members of parliament to investigate violence and threats of violence at boxing matches, particularly amateur shows.

You don't want football level policing at boxing where you're treated worse than cattle.SAPFO wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 13:30 The kid on the right at 31 secs in. Only one throwing decent punches.

Plus the biggest issue is that they can predict arrival times etc due to kick off. With boxing it is 4/5hr event with people arriving in the area constantly.
Re: Crowd trouble tonight
Let's get it right, it's the gypos! They're a fuckin menace! I'm not tarring them all with the same brush but a lot of them are fuckin tits and start crap!
Personally, I've been threatened off them a few times. I caught two trying to steal metal out ma back garden and when I dug them up they threatened to shoot and slash me
They think they can do what they want and nobody can say anything to them!

Re: Crowd trouble tonight
Just spoke to a colleague whos mate is good friends with Francis Warren, he (my mate) was there Saturday night and close to where it was kicking off. He said he felt on edge all night as there was friction most of the night.
He said there were people in there who had those arm bands on you generally see at festivals etc, you know to show you are supposed to be there. He said these people had no seats as the band's said, no seats, and were just sitting where they liked. This was causing issues as people were just sitting where they wanted. My mate went to the bar and came back to find 2, let's say not so nice individuals sat in their seats, and they said they could sit anywhere. After a little altercation these 2 people pissed off when my mate said these seats are actually Francis Warren seats
My mates first live show and I don't think he was impressed with the nights action.
