no.
If this was at Wembley tickets would be sold out for the AJ clash within a day, Tickets would be far slower for the Fury match, if at Wembley, and the show would not sell out.

For me any fight between Fury, Joshua, Povetkin, Wilder is the same big, match some of them against any other.

When Tyson Fury was interviewed yesterday, he claimed that he's dropped to 16s 12lbs (236lbs) and that he'd lost too much weight, but was hoping to make a return to his 18st 10lbs (262lbs) optimum weight.astradamus wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 08:49 I was thinking about this since the fight seems more competative and more unpredictable since Fury isn't that skinny yet...
I guess that Tyson may never possess the perfect physique, partly due to his genetics, but also due to having a certain amount of excess skin after having to lose so much weight (roughly 122lbs) within roughly eight months.
So he'll always look a bit fleshy, but this doesn't necessarily mean he's out-of-condition.

no--- but TF & DW will probably both get the highest payday of their careers to date---THE RING seems to think it will be a SHOWTIME PPV from T-MOBILE in NEVADA.

Tyson Fury’s mathematically-calculated average weight for all 26 of his bouts is 257¼lbs. His average weight during the last five years works out at 262½lbs.astradamus wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 09:41He was at his heaviest ever against Sefer Seferi, by looking at his record he's usually around 250 pounds, maybe a bit more heavy.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 09:28When Tyson Fury was interviewed yesterday, he claimed that he's dropped to 16s 12lbs (236lbs) and that he'd lost too much weight, but was hoping to make a return to his 18st 10lbs (262lbs) optimum weight.astradamus wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 08:49 I was thinking about this since the fight seems more competative and more unpredictable since Fury isn't that skinny yet...

I’m not suggesting that Fury is actually at his physical peak weighing 262lbs, because those are his words, not mine. However, I am claiming that if Tyson entered the ring weighing 262lbs against Francesco Pianeta, then that would indeed be his typical fighting weight.

Only the Brits here can say which is considered the bigger fight.
Neither fight would garner much attention in the USA.
But Fury might capture a little more media attention than Joshua because he's a bit eccentric.

Joshua is a PPV cash cow in the UK & that means there is no way he will fight more than twice year whilst he is champion.astradamus wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 08:49 I was thinking about this since the fight seems more competative and more unpredictable since Fury isn't that skinny yet, it will be a real race against the clock for him most likely.
I think I look more forward to this fight then any other fight atm, that is, assuming it happens.
I would feel terrible if Wilder once again knows something he can use in the very end to avoid the fight, or keep his belt anyway, like a few nanograms of whatever left in Tyson Fury his body or something like that. Or if they just use it to hype a fight against Pianeta up.
I personally rather watch this fight above the AJ vs Povetkin fight, which is a fight I was long looking forward too.
I also hope AJ will fight more often again, because he seems to be (once again) getting less active, he's almost just as inactive as Wilder is.

Joshua v Wilder is much bigger.SenorPipino wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 11:00 Only the Brits here can say which is considered the bigger fight.

Joshua v almost anyone is bigger over here than Fury v Wilder.
The biggest ten + fights in Heavyweight Boxing right now have Joshua involved. He’d sell more tickets and ppvs against Chisora than Fury v Wilder would do. Joshua operates on a different level to any other heavyweight.

Joshua v ten plus heavyweights are not bigger fights than Fury v Wilder.
And certainly not more relevant.

I could see an argument for Fury - Wilder being harder to predict. Fury at his best should have been a clear favorite over Wilder; but now that Fury is a little rusty and a little flabby, it could be a real toss-up. Joshua - Wilder should be easier to predict, in the sense that Joshua should be the clear favorite.
The real money fight, IMO, is Joshua vs in-shape Fury.

if your reason at all has to do with aj losing rounds to any fighter, keep in mind wilder loses even more, to worse opponents

That was a weird typo. I meant Joshua should be the favorite.jamamb wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 18:20y should wilder be a clear fav over aj?Lackeos wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018, 18:17 I could see an argument for Fury - Wilder being harder to predict. I don't think Fury-Wilder would outsell Joshua-Wilder. But it would be a very significant event none the less.

My impression is that Fury is actually more beloved in the UK than Joshua.
It might be because of his struggles with drugs and alcohol. It might be because he's such a quirky character.
Maybe he's seen as more of a real, devil may care personality while Joshua seems to have morphed into a calculating businessman.
I could be wrong. I don't live in the UK. But I wouldn't underestimate the attraction of Fury. I think the very casual fan watches him with even more passion than Joshua.

joshua is way bigger in the uk
Re: Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder bigger then AJ vs Wilder?
Only in terms of combined height. I see this as a cynical attempt by Wilder to add a big name to his resume while taking the least risk possible. I think we all know the modus operandi by now.
If these boxers are serious about the fight they should put it on ice until Fury has had a couple more come-back fights and shown he is once again a force in the division to be reckoned with. If he did that I suspect Wilder would be nowhere near as keen.
Is Fury just looking to cash in his chips? It looks rather like it to me.
