106-103 The Wee Pecker.

Give Edwards the 11th. Still R by a point going into the last.

You think? Thought he barely landed in that round.
Agree - meant the 9th. CR hurt Edwards in the 9th, Edwards got his 2nd wind in the 10th.

I got Edwards up. Don't really see how you'd have Rosales up honestly. I had picked him to win, but I just can't see how he's gotten the better of it by any measure.

Yeah. Edwards the better in 10th and 11th. Would think Rosales needs a knockout to nick this. Scorecards will be interesting to see.

CR got the 12th for sure.
116-113 Wee Pecker.

Wouldn't be suprised by wide either way or a draw...

I tend to agree, but US judges don't do they ?
"The Hurt Business" and all that.
I'm not having a go at you. This "what you like" stuff just encourages poo scoring.

Last time I checked "what you like" wasn't on the list of scoring criteria for judges.
the list of criteria also doesnt really suggest that clearly more light blows should be favoured over fewer heavy ones
Scoring punches perhaps?

115-113 or 116-112 Edwards feels right.

Rosales had a strong showing in the 12th round, but it wasn't enough. Good fight, good effort from both men, but I felt like Edwards did the better work, and deserves the W.

I had it to Edwards by 4. Good performance although it’s a shame he packs no power in his punches.

I'm not arguing with anybody's score on this one. Some of the rounds were murder to score, proper nip and tuck stuff, but I seem to be in a minority in having Rosales as winner at the end.

counting back i had 115-114 ed, he looked a lot 'cuter' but i felt it was very close in terms of actual scoring

Probably, and that's ridiculous too. Charlie won, but he didn't win by THAT kinda margin.

Charlie Edwards (14-1, 6 KOs) picked up a twelve round unanimous decision to become the WBC flyweight world champion, with a calculated boxing game plan to unseat Cristofer Rosales (28-4, 19 KOs). The scores were 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112 for Edwards.

Rosales came out pressing, pushing Edwards back and trying to overwhelm Edwards in the early going. Edwards was staying calm, jabbing and using the full ring to move around.

During the fourth rounds, Edwards landed a big two punch combination that Rosales took. The fight was quickly evening up as Edwards was boxing well.

The next few rounds were give and take, with close-pitched action between the two boxers.

In the seventh round, Rosales was applying more pressure and looking to work over Edwards, who had a cut appear around the hairline.

As the fight played out, Edwards came back with his boxing skills to land accurate shots and stayed away from the bigger incoming punches from Rosales.

Rosales dug deep in the eleventh, taking the fight to Edwards and was connecting with big punches.

lol theres a lot more to the critera then that, and the criteria itself isnt at all clear as to what it means. many different interpretations can be put on effective agression for example or ring generalship. you cant iimpose clearness on such unclear standards. this aint the old point a punch amateurs either

No problem with the result.

The thing I DO have a problem with....

That was tough to score and could easily be wide either way, but it always seems to me, that the very same judges tend to prefer a MatchRoom fighter's light-hitting volume work in one fight - then suddenly, the "fewer, but heavier punches" MatchRoom fighter in the next. :witzend: :brick: :maybe:

Gracias. I have to pick up my kid and I don't want to miss Whyte kicking Chisora's arse! (That ought to get some replies)

No question CR won the last. So, the judge gave him 1 out of the first 11. UK judging at times is some of the worse about.

I accept that, but I think Edwards won.
