Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Froch putting Groves' lights out must have caused some tears and traumas on here

Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Not really...the board was pro Froch massively. At the time of the first fight someone put up a thread pre-fight saying that Froch looked like had been rattled by Groves during (during Ringside I think). I remember him being laughed at, and there were even calls to delete the thread as a few posts had 'proven Froch wasn't rattled'. Now we all know he was, and as Dan said, it seems in retirement he has annoyed more people than ever before.

'A boring and horrible style' that Froch had no answer to.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑08 Mar 2019, 09:23..when you lose your titles and soul to Ward![]()

I actually supported him in his fights, he's a bit of a whiner though. Britains answer to Winky Wright, he was a moaning pudendum and all.

Yep I used to be a fan, remember cheering when he smashed Bute. Now I just think he's a huge knob doesn't deserve my respect anymorethepocketrocket wrote: ↑08 Mar 2019, 10:22Not really...the board was pro Froch massively. This is it. It is an individual sport so you are hoping an individual does well in his life, gets glory, earns money. If that person comes across badly, then why should you invest emotional time in him? You can respect the fighter, but you can think he is an ass who isn't worth your time.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑08 Mar 2019, 12:50Yep I used to be a fan, remember cheering when he smashed Bute. As a fighter he is one of the best we've had in years, fought everyone, was hard as nails and was in exiting fights, he just lacks humility

Froch was as hard as nails against guys he knew he could beat. Guys he knew he would lose to, he intended to avoid like the plague. Didnt go near Dirrel again and ran for the hills to avoid Ward. In fairness, it was the smart thing to do, as Ward would have been even better in a rematch and got Froch out of there.

Did he have rematches with Dirrel and Ward? Did he ever pursue rematches with those two? Instead, he boxed a weight drained Yusaf Mack and a weight drain Lucian Bute. Smart business moves, though, so fair play. I don't blame him for avoiding those two, particularly Ward, as there is no point picking a fight you have next to no chance of winning.samwbr wrote: ↑09 Mar 2019, 04:12Revisionism of the highest order. I definitely think Groves Cobra'd Froch here. He was temporarily out cold:

Amazing he got up from that, he struggled with that for a couple of rounds too, great turn around to go on to win that, I know it’s a poor stoppage but Froch showed real heart to take that fight by the scruff of he neck and drag himself back into it, Groves had so much of the early going it was a great comeback.big lennox wrote: ↑09 Mar 2019, 06:09 I definitely think Groves Cobra'd Froch here. Dirrell retired one fight later but I don’t expect a casual to know that fact.big lennox wrote: ↑09 Mar 2019, 06:04Did he have rematches with Dirrel and Ward? Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
well froch still had to finish the tournament after the dirrell fight, and do you think dirrell wouldve actually wanted a rematch anyway? he was so jittery vs froch and constantly looking to the canvas, obviously very uncomoftable under pressure even though he did score better on the whole
froch lost to 2 guys and rematched 1 of them, thats not bad at all. most guys dont rematch everyone who beats them. he also rematched groves when groves had hurt him good and had him in way more trouble then dirrell did.
