He said he turned down 4, 5 was the last offer. Joshua wanted more time for a fighter like hunter so he turned that down. Hopefully it's Bryan. At least there is an unknown with him and he's a big dude. We know the butterball brings nothing to the table.

Ruiz is tailor-made for a guy like AJ. Don't know much about Bryan. Don King is pushing him but DK insulted the hell out of Hearn, so I doubt they'll chose him.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 10:17 He said he turned down 4, 5 was the last offer. Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
Yeah something is stopping Ortiz. Either Haymon has an amazing hold over him and his fellow PBC fighters (Loyalty my arse
) or Luis doesn't believe he's going to have enough time to satisfy VADA. Gentlemen place your bets.
I don't for a moment think Ortiz is scared of AJ even if he thought he was in for a brief and unpleasant experience.

Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
It might be the VADA. I initially feel sorry for guys like Ortiz and Oquendo who aren't getting the fights but then I read they're turning down these fights.candyslim wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 10:29 Yeah something is stopping Ortiz. Who knows? Maybe Ortiz doesn't trust hearn after those two snoozers he gave Eddie before. Luis paid a million to get away from GBP who were doing very well by him. He's not shrewd to say the least. Seems like he has to have been promised a wilder rematch for near the same money. He certainly has no reason to believe wilder won't fight him.

I wouldn't have hated huck as a replacement
Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
Ortiz almost stopped Wilder. Wilder has bigger fish to fry with a possible rematch with Fury, an AJ fight, or easier pickings such as Breazeale coming up. But I have no inside scoop. If he was promised a Wilder rematch and believes it, that's at least an explanation.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 10:56 Who knows? Dumb for him to turn down even 3 million at this stage of his career. How is Ortiz going to be making money in 10 years?

May as well watch it. I remember telling a buddy back in the day that I won't watch Holmes-LeDoux because it was such a ridiculous mismatch, but yeah, I ended up watching it.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 11:27 I wouldn't even watch Ruiz and Joshua is my favorite heavyweight since holy field.

Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
I watched everything then. I had 4 TV channels and if boxing was on one of them I was watching it. There will be a UFC or another card on to prevent me from putting that trash on my computer.

Who wants to feel angry and laugh at the same time?
Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
ah thanks, cant listen atm, was it actually a guy from ortizs team on recording saying that, or hearn just saying thats what they said
Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
It's Ortiz's manager. Gets on the call at about 6 minutes then a minute later exposes it all. Sounds like either they're either covering their asses with damage control because their bluff was called or the threats from Hearn about exposing the "lowball" offers led them to make a different excuse. Hopefully this can be seen as reaching out to return to the offer.
Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
They (Ortiz's camp) admit to Fcvking up the negotiations and admit that a $5 million offer was made. They are begging to make the fight happen. Jiminez(?) said Ortiz wanted to make the fight but the backers thought they could get more dough. Let's hope this all shakes out the right way. So all along they were trying to squeeze AJ and Hearn.joshj909 wrote: ↑26 Apr 2019, 16:19 It's Ortiz's manager. Gets on the call at about 6 minutes then a minute later exposes it all. Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
what stops ortiz from just accepting on his own? does he need a promoters sign off or something
Re: Poor Luis Ortiz
Replace BC with Boxing "Seen" but spell it right. BoxRec blocks that site. "Scene" with no spaces after Boxing.
