SOMEBODY'S "O" HAS GOT TO GO IN SEVERAL GGG UNDERCARD BOUTS

Post by Best Coast »

Unbeaten U.S. prospect Brian Ceballo faces his toughest test so far as a pro when he fights undefeated Uzbekistani hopeful Bakhtiar Eyubov. GGG's unbeaten Kazakhstani countryman Ali Akhmedov also faces an unbeaten foe in his co-feature bout as well. Several other undefeated prospects round out the undercard

In the co-feature, undefeated super middleweight contenders Ali Akhmedov (14-0, 10 KOs) and Marcus McDaniel (15-0, 2 KOs) will face off in a ten round bout for the vacant WBC International super middleweight title.

Undefeated welterweights Brian Ceballo (8-0, 4 KOs) and Bakhtiyar Eyubov (14-0-1, 12 KOs) collide in an eight-round bout.

WBA #7 super welterweight Israil “The Dream” Madrimov (2-0, 2 KOs), who has only fought in 10-rounders since turning professional, will risk his world-rating against Norberto “Domino” Gonzalez (23-12, 13 KOs) in a 10-rounder.

Former U.S. Olympian Charles Conwell (9-0, 7 KOs) meets Courtney Pennington (12-3-3, 5 KOs) in a ten-rounder for the vacant USBA junior middleweight title.

The DAZN live stream will open with middleweight Nikita “White Chocolate” Ababiy (4-0, 4 KOs) vs. TBA.

It’s a deeply unimpressive fight card, with the event headlined by a blatant mismatch.

GGG promotions want all the cash so Eddies putting his youngsters on for more experience and doesn’t cost him and GGG doesn’t have much else on the books to fill undercards yet.

Yulessinov was meant to be on but GGG scrubbed him as he fell out over comments.

You’d have thought the money GGG saved on facing a cheap anonymous opponent like Steve Rolls would have been spent on having a stacked card, but it hasn’t. The entire event is very lacklustre.

It’s not as if Golovkin himself is short on cash either. He’s currently worth at least $30m and has just signed a $100m deal with DAZN.

So Gennadiy should have invested more of his own money to stage a much better event. After all, it’s his company that’s promoting it.

Eddie Hearn, Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya would have been ridiculed for staging something like this.

There’s really no excuse for this garbage. This is just a money grab for GGG.

Are you sure it was Yeleussinov that got pulled from the GGG card? Daniyar just fought last weekend on the Haney-Moran undercard on DAZN? I know both are Kazakhs but it's hard to imagine him fighting 2 weeks later after going 6 rounds on May 25.
