Re: Adrien Broner vs. Ivan Redkach - Sep/Oct 2019
This seems to be a stay-busy type fight specifically aimed to allow Broner to return to winning ways, especially considering the fact that by the time he enters the ring against Redkach it would have been 2½ years since his latest victory.
The PBC needs a popular fighter (in terms of attracting a sizable viewing audience) to be perceived as being a challenging opponent rather than a sacrificial lamb for Al Haymon’s top dogs at 147lbs.
Adrien Broner has only managed to stop two fighters within the last 6½ years (against less-than-stellar opposition), which means I’m expecting ‘The Problem’ to score a comfortable unanimous decision victory over Redkach.

Broner cant punch at these higher classes. Ivan is good enough to beat him.i suspect a "victory" for broner like his "wins" over malignaggi and granados
Broner has a lot of ability. He is very good when he comes forward and punches in combination. At 140 and 147 he doesnt have power. He is unwilling or unable to grind out wins like he needs to. Hes zab 2.0

Broner will win this to lose his next one. Thurman sounds about right. Or lipinets.

Kevin Cunningham will get two for the price of one in the next step for his top two clients.
BS.com has been informed of a planned doubleheader featuring former four-division titlist Adrien Broner and resurgent super welterweight contender Erickson Lubin slated to take place sometime in October.
Both boxers are trained by Cunningham, who has taken to social media to confirm the rumors of a twinbill. Broner is slated to face Ivan Redkach, while Lubin is locked in for a crossroads bout with Dennis Hogan in a bout that could serve as a title eliminator.
“It’s time to get back to business,” stated Cunningham on social media, but declined comment to BS.com regarding any details involving the next fight for either of his clients.
Cunningham took over the reins for Broner (33-4-1, 24KOs) last spring, prior to his eventual 12-round draw with former two-division titlist Jessie Vargas last April in Brooklyn, N.Y. The tandem are still in search of their first win together, as Broner’s lone fight since then came in a lopsided loss to legendary Manny Pacquiao this past January in Las Vegas.
Broner’s own winless streak stretches back even deeper than their current relationship. The brash 30-year old from Cincinnati, Ohio last had his hand raised in victory in a tightly contested 10-round nod over Adrian Granados more than two years in his hometown. Since then has come a July 2017 points loss to Mikey Garcia along with the aforementioned draw with Vargas and defeat to Pacquiao.
Redkach (23-4-1, 18KOs)—from Los Angeles, Calif. by way of Ukraine comes in carrying a three-fight win streak, none bigger than a 6th round knockout of Devon Alexander this past June. The 33-year old southpaw rallied back from an early deficit to score three knockdowns in eventually putting away Alexander, who was without the services of Cunningham for the first time as a pro or amateur as he worked with Roy Jones Jr. for the fight.
Manning the corner of Redkach was another future Hall of Fame boxer in “Sugar” Shane Mosley, with the two meshing well together.
Despite the current win streak, Redkach and Broner are in the same predicament as a loss could prove far more damaging at this stage of their respective careers.

Meh, I'll watch it if it's free.
It ain't all bad. Ivan can punch a little, and I like to see Broner hit.
