Caleb Plant vs Mike Lee

Plant makes the first defence of his IBF Super Middleweight title against 21-0 Lee in a battle of the unbeatens on the Thurman/Pacquiao card this weekend, ive heard of Lee but not sure if ive seen him before, looking through his record, no recognisable names and this looks a big step up on paper

I was really impressed with Plant last fight when he beat Uzcategui to win the title, dropped him twice early and stayed in the lead all night, Uzcategui tried to close the gap in the second half but Plant worked hard to stay in control and was always willing to fight fire with fire against someone who was considered a bit of a boogieman going in

I cant see Plant being put in with someone who'll pose to much of a risk for a first defence, you'd expect him to win this

Yeah, nice easy first defence for Plant.
I don't mind it, considering how he beat the champ to win the belt.

I would guess that Plant will be targeting Dirrell vs Benevidez winner early next year.

Is there any footage of Lee available?

Plant i think hits harder than his record suggest. Uzcategui is no mug and Plant had him down twice.

The prices aren't up yet for Plant to win by stoppage, but I want to check Lee out before i bet it anyway as he's an unknown quantity to me.

plant impressed me a lot in his last fight looks a really good boxer looked like an adam booth type fighter , looks very capable fighter in the top end of the division,is lee dropping a weight for this fight , super mid?. mike lee came from University of Notre Dame the fighting irish , and rudy rudy rudy , i tell ya lee has some good hands, jabs more like a paw but when he throws a shot , he throws in 2 n 3s good shots as well good upper body movement , could be a closer fight than i first thought , plant looks a top fighter i expect him win but dont know how hard lee chin is ,i would say plant stoppage late

Plant puts Lee down 4 times before stopping him in the 3rd, clinical display from Plant against an overmatched opponent Lee who although tried to be aggressive never offered much resistance, Plant dropped him in the 1st with a well timed left hook, in the 3rd Lee was down again this time courtesy of a right hand over the jab, a left hook had Lee down again as he lunged in after getting put down, Lee was down for the 4th and last time from a scuffing left, didn't land clean but Lee went down and the ref waved it off when he got up, he protested and he probably should've been allowed to continue but a couple of they KDs dropped him pretty easily, mainly the last 2 so I doubt he would've lasted much longer, mismatch but a good clinical display from Plant

Serious mismatch this, however I do like the look of Plant. Not the most exciting division at the minute but he looks a pretty slick operator, the Uzcategui performance was impressive.

Think Plant is really likeable in and out the ring.
Everyone slates SMW at the moment but if the champs fought they’d be good fights. Get US and UK champs to unify separately then winners for undisputed, that would be good. And pigs might fly.
