Lots of press about Fury working on setting his feet and throwing punches in bunches.

It's a big if....

But that's what he has to do

When Fury plants his feet to hurl one of his big telegraphed 'power' right hands at Pov, I think the Ruskie will counter and flatten him.

I’m worried pov walks right through fury and KOs him. Just depends how much povetkin has left/how old he is (in boxing terms)

Hughie has gone through a tough training camp.

I kinda hope he wins. Cuz he’s young and he’s likely to be around a while. Povetkin got his last world title shot, on his way out. Can still put in a good performance I bet. But a win for Hughie here will do him much more.

Which is why he needs to throw punches in punches.

He needs a big step up from what he showed against Pulev

That was my first thought. Hughie tends to wind up his right hand and Pov's money punch is the short counter left hook (he landed plenty against AJ early doors). Unless Fury runs like a thief he's going to get tagged and hard - in which case we will at least finally learn what his chin is like...

He needs to be active. Too many fights where he does nothing and stinks the joint out

I see it, loosely, like Thompson/Price, in that an old used up pug has been inadvertently matched with the one young guy he can still beat. Parker and Pulev are big strong lumps but they don't have the talent or arsenal of sneaky punches Povetkin has. Fury got away with loading up in front of another 40 yr old ex-champ, S. Peter, because the Nigerian in terms of boxing IQ is borderline retarded, but Povetkin? Unless the Russian weighs in at some jaded, cynical 260, I expect Fury to end up splayed on the canvas, gurgling in a pool of his own pus. I hope the O2 staff have a mop and a bucket of Acnecide ready.

The problem Hughie has is he's slightly Audley esque. By that I mean, whilst he's waiting to deliver the perfect punch he's slowly losing the fight on points. Either Povetkin mauls his way to victory or Hughie finds the perfect upper cut.

 :TU: that's what I see too. Unless he somehow gets a new trainer between now and the weekend!

I can see Hughie just running away the entire fight hoping he gets a decision again. I have a feeling he's going to get cut again and Povetkin will stop him in the later rounds.

I do find it odd that Hughie is fighting the better opponent of the Fury cousins. Then again Tyson has fought Sefer Seferi, Francesco Pianeta, Tom Schwarz and soon to be Otto Wallin in his last 5 fights. So many not a big surprise.

I see the fight seen from "The Kid From Brooklyn" with Danny Kaye.

Hughie has fought 2 top 10 ranked HW’s in his last 3 bouts. He doesn’t shy away does he?

Ohh and a former world champion!! 14 years removed. Who necks??

Both weighed around 225 pounds. Pov weighed 222 against AJ.

Povetkin looked a bit fatter, than in the last bouts.

I'm surprised by all the folks predicting Povetkin will win by stoppage.

Hughie fought Parker who isn't winning decisively against nobody and couldn't knock Razvan Cojanu out and Pulev who isn't known of knocking his opponents out. Povetkin is completely different than them, if i had to bet i would also say Povetkin by late KO, but Povetkin UD seems as much likely.

I hope he does. I like Tyson but Hughie is distinctly mediocre and hasn't even proved himself to be a world class fighter.

Of the two I prefer Hughie , he conducts himself well out of the ring and I believe people talk about him less because there is no sideshow .

People also talk about him less because he's a far inferior fighter to Tyson and lost in totally boring negative displays in both his high level fights

You would think with Hughie's skin condition it would be his opponents running for their life from him
