Fact of the matter is Andy Ruiz has a better resume than vitali and maybe better than wilder and fury too.

You dont understand much boxing.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 00:55 Competition is relevant tbf, I rate the Ortiz wins and he obviously has one of the best HW resumes, but guys like Stiverne and Breazeale are pretty weak as your next best wins for a p4p level, if we are talking what he's done. That may mean a lot at HW, but how do you honestly think that compares to the best of what has been accomplished in other divisions?.
He is showing some special abilities and generally beating heavier guys though, he could make the top 10 when you consider that. He's not much bigger than Usyk and lots rate Uzzy. But I can't honestly say having 10 title defenses or whatever itself means a lot. Volume--that stuff like Wilder's 42 wins and knockouts, wlad's 15 title defenses, Vitali's KO rate, etc is overrated, quality means a lot more.
In fact, most of the time people mention volume first because the quality ain't there to talk about
Uz is regarded a top 5 boxer, because he is an allround boxer. Footwork, technique, arsenal of different punches, he got it all. Wilder just has 1 thing and thats arguably the strongest 1 punch ever. Height snd reach help too. Other than that he is c level. He got no technique. You take his atg power away than is just an defensive open wild punches.

Take away his power? You can't be that stupid.
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
aside from his power his other qualities like footwork, defence or technique are c level.
what do you dont understand about that?

Sweetheart, you can't take away attributes that exist. Are you trying to say if wilder punched like malignaggi he would suck? Holy shit, that's deep.

Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Peter, Sanders, Adamek, Gomez, Johnson, Arreola, Williams, Hide, Solis, Chisora, Norris, Sosnowski, and Purrity would all be Ruiz's second biggest wins. Probably a couple other Vitali wins would be too, but I got tired of typing names.
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Usyk is definitely p4p fighter.
If AJ wins tomorrow Then I could see him on the lower half of the list. If Ruiz wins hes not... He does not have enough wins to get there. Not yet at least.
Wlad definitely belonged on the list After beating Povetkin.
Fury probably belonged after beating Wlad.
He has not done enough recently to get onto the list. Even if he would have gotten the deserved win from Wilder that would not have been enough to make it in at the moment.
I don't rate Wilder. He has one name on his list that is worth something...

Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Stop typing and look at them. I'll grant you his volume of average wins is reasonable to rate over ruiz one very good one, but man vitali fought crap. You're listing sosnowski, Johnson, purity, hide, areola, Williams. Lol
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
I think it's difficult for a heavyweight to feature on any P4p list unless they're undisputed or damn near undisputed. The lighter guys tend to hop divisions which gets them noticed more for these types of lists.
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
I know who I'm listing, and you just granted my point. The question wasn't whether they were crap or not.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 18:30Stop typing and look at them. Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
And if big wins are your yardstick, and you look past the oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-it factor of Ruiz's win over Joshua, Fury actually has the biggest scalp of the bunch in virtually shutting out a Wlad who hadn't lost in a decade.

Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Don't disagree with that past the shutout. Fury could take a bath and some of you guys would demand he dominated a Rd.
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Well, there's an important mischaracterization there. A guy can dominate a fight without dominating rounds. Building something in the neighborhood of 118-110 cards (*virtually* dominating, which is what I actually said) by consistently demonstrating the superiority of your skill set on that night. (This is how I think of Jones-Hopkins I.) Doesn't mean you necessarily ever did anything that's gonna look good on SportsCenter. But then it's on lock that some people will turn around and try to use that lack of flashy highlights as an argument that the judges got it wrong, which is just not a cogent argument. ("Hey, where are all the other guy's great highlights, then?")Onetimeonly wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 19:05 Don't disagree with that past the shutout. The irony of discussing Fury-Klitschko this way is of course that that fight deposed the long reigning king of the boring but very clear points victory (and the late, I-had-fallen-asleep-by-then stoppage). Fury out-Klitschkoed Klitschko,
Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
All them 4 top guys does have shot at the p4p. Usyk is there since he is Usyk.
The resumés will grow for all them guys in the near future.
Still holding Fury as the king even if he takes a break from boxing or retires. Well, lets see how this plays out in about five or ten years.

Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
not P4P for me. joshua is the only
candidate for me, but he needs to
come back from this and prove it
was a slip.
as for ATG at heavy i believe both
AJ and wilder have the talent, but
neither man had decisive, great
wins against top A opposition.

Re: Is there any HW on a p4p 10 level?
Considering that Wilder and Fury drew, considering that Joshua went 1-1 with Ruiz, this is no time to be rating any of them top 10 p4p.
When Usyk was a cruiserweight, he was definitely top 10 p4p, maybe top 5 p4p. So, even as a heavyweight, Usyk still belongs in the top 10 p4p.

It being hard to choose the better of two guys doesn't mean they couldn't both be top 10.Lackeos wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 19:52 Considering that Wilder and Fury drew, considering that Joshua went 1-1 with Ruiz, this is no time to be rating any of them top 10 p4p.

Wilder is the #1 guy in the sport as far as pure punching power. I don't think he's Top 100 as far as skill.squiggy wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 22:09It being hard to choose the better of two guys doesn't mean they couldn't both be top 10.Lackeos wrote: ↑07 Dec 2019, 19:52 Considering that Wilder and Fury drew, considering that Joshua went 1-1 with Ruiz, this is no time to be rating any of them top 10 p4p.
