De La Hoya: ‘Saunders is not the frontrunner for Canelo Alvarez’

Post by apollo creed »

“Saunders is not the frontrunner, that’s for sure. I have no idea who threw that name out there. I have a trip to Mexico [to meet] with Canelo and his team,” said De La Hoya to secondsout about Canelo’s next opponent on May 2. “We’ll sit down, I’ll stay there for a few days, iron out a deal and take it from there. Once we have the name down, we’ll have an announcement shortly,” said De La Hoya.

So maybe Callum Smith is ?

Saunders can easily become a front runner if he doesn't price himself out like he did at least once against Golovkin.

Saunders had already agreed terms on two separate occasions to face Golovkin and signed contracts, but it was GGG that refrained from taking the fight.

You already know this, but you're more interested in defending GGG's honour rather than the truth.

Saunders suddenly lost his pen b/c he knew he'd get Knocked Out by G.

BJS is on Adamu, Isufi and Coceres type of diet. :OhYes:

Saunders has the style to beat canelo lots of movement he won't stand in front of canelo and trade . I'd imagine canelo isn't scared but he'd know Billy Joe won't make him look good

Canelo is in charge big time. He's gonna 'squeeze' these guys and have all the advantages on his side like FMJ did. :TU:

On his best day, BJS could repeat what Lara did -- make Canelo look like a clueless puppy hitting air and elbows. Of course, like Lara, he will never get a decision.
