This card was a benefit for an Eatontown, NJ, police officer who had suffered a serious injury in the line of duty. The card was held at the Ocean View A. A. Arena, an outdoor facility, in Long Branch, NJ, on Tuesday, August 6, 1929. The results of this card have not been previously reported on Boxrec.

Neither source gives the scheduled distance of the Marks-Block bout. According to the "Red Bank Register", Smith drew with Andy Thomas of Asbury Park. According to the "Long Branch Daily Record", Smith drew with Joe Thomas of Trenton. The Boxrec database has an Andy Thomas from Asbury Park with one middleweight bout in 1924.
