Foreman vs Savarese - Forgotten Classic

Post by evrenb »

Hadn't watched this since it happened. A very good fight..Foreman is an amazing human being ...48 years old and fighting at this pace. Perhaps the hardest man that ever laced up the gloves. :salut:

A good fight. A close one as well. Actually, the decision there is a thing to remain disputed.

I thought the result was correct but one judge who scored it 118-110 Truly had their head stuck up their arse!

This fight happened around the same time Leonard came back at 40 and was destroyed by Camacho, a bulked up lightweight, and boxing writers marvelled at how Foreman at nearly 50 could rumble with giants like Savarese. It's an impressive performance, whoever you think won.

I know savarese wasn't the best but Foreman and he went toe to toe over 12 rounds. Amazing in my eyes...
Going to watch George's last match (for the time being ) against Shannon Briggs....
