The KO reminded me of JMM on Pac.

Kinda walked into it and then face first planted.

Honestly i did not expect this. It is not KO that impress me, because Berchelt defense is terrible, but the way how Valdez schooled him through the fight :o

Berchelt thought, “Defence? What’s that?”

Valdez and co had their game plan on point.

ya he fought like he didnt expect valdez to be able to hurt him, like he could just walk him down being the bigger man

that's all well and dandy if it works, but when a man can make you do 5 different types of dances with one left hook, then you've got a problem

Berchelt's defence is terrible, not sure why literally everyone favoured Berchelt, sure he is bigger and has a better resume but Valdez is quicker, hard puncher as well, imo a better boxer, expected him to win and he did it, fantastic KO, I like this fighter, my favourite active Mexican fighter.

Reynoso's by far the best trainer.

A great fight. A big upset. Tremendous will and effort from Berchelt. Great defence, speed, timing and accuracy from Valdez.

Valdez fought so smart with those counters. He saw everything Berchelt could suggest and Berchelt was really trying. Berchelt tried to steal the ending of the final round, but got too reckless. The KO was spectacular.

It really was an incredible performance. Joining up with Reynoso was such a smart decision.

I didn't like that all of the so called "boxing experts" were writing Valdez off as if he didn't even deserve to share the ring with Berchalt.

Maybe Berchelt was landing more effective shots?

Or they were giving him the benefit of the doubt as champion.

I’m glad recent good fights have been ending with stoppages. Fvck the judges!

Another great work by Reynoso and company: Oscar showed better timing and looked a lot sharper than before. He could have not done it fighting like two years ago.

Valdez won the 1st, but the 2nd and the 3rd were quite close.

Agreed. Rounds 2 & 3 were competitive. Then Oscar took over.

This is early knockout of the year contender for sure.

Edit to add: Valdez is a handful for anyone he’s up against. Extremely fast!

Great effort by Valdez....but to me, Berchelt either is “dead at the weight” or had a horrible weight cut. His legs were gone from the very beginning of the fight.

Big win for Valdez! Reynoso trained him very well and they had a very good game plan. Valdez is a serious fighter that he's able to learn and stay focused. :TU:

I didnt watch the the full fight, but I did catch the highlights. Super impressed with Valdez, he showed alot of wrinkles in there (although I wasn't super high on him going into the fight). Very good footwork, lead left hooks, snapping jab, counter left hooks off the ropes and in the middle of the ring. It really was a great performance.

Hard not to feel bad for Berchelt. The guy took a brutal beating. He put it all on the line and went out on his shield. Not the type of boxing I really enjoy to see, but hard not to respect the guy for it. Hope he's able to bounce back from this, but if I was on his team I'd advise him to take his time getting back into the ring. That really was a career altering type of beating.
