0:36 * The referee appears to be jockeying for position; he's moving more than the fighters. Apparently, he wants to get a better look at the cut above Miller's eye. Now, he just steps in and stops the action. Flaherty is escorting Miller over to the ringside doctor to get an opinion on the severity of the cut. 5:0
0:36 * The referee won't stop the fight on his own if the reason for the stoppage directly has to do with a cut or swelling; he'll always consult the ringside doctor. 01:44 * The doctor is peering at the wound and he's shrugged his shoulders and he's shaking his head - is that a good thing or bad? Well, it's good from Miller's perspective and the cheer that arises from the crowd tells us all we need to know: there's going to be more fisticuffs in just a moment. 02:18 Blood is streaming down Miller's face once again, as the gash on his eyelid has been reopened. That wound is going to continue to be a serious problem for as long as this fight lasts. 10:6
02:18 * The fighters move away from each other, creating a bit of distance between them. Now the referee has called timeout, halting the action. He's leading Freddie Miller to the ringside physician. The cut over Miller's eye seems to be the primary cause for concern. 10:6
02:22 * It looks like the ringside physician is asking Flaherty to stop the fight so he can examine Miller's cut. The doctor is really taking a close look at it and Freddie Miller can not like the expression on his face.* That's it! Referee Flaherty is waving it off. This fight is over! Well we're just moving right along ain't we. I never updated the rankings after Week 5 yet, but I'll just go ahead and save it until Week 6 is a wrap, and factor in both weeks results.

Pep wins another competitive one with Miller. Must admit I breathed a sigh of relief when Pep got the cut stoppage after being dropped in the previous round. I still felt Pep had the edge to take the decision which the scorecards reflected, but it was a little too close for comfort there.

You've redeemed yourself from your poor start to the season Miller. Though you've lost twice to Pep. You've given spirited showings to the best man going.

:TU:

Oh and by the way. Seeing as how Pep won his Eliminator while Nelson and Jofre fought to a draw. I say you just go on and crown Pep the Champion, and allow Jofre and Nelson to be his mandatory contenders in his first 2 weeks as Champions.

Seems perfectly fair to me.

Pep this time got even more troubled, but eventually even more lucky.

Vic Drakulich gotta be publically executed.

Luck? I don't know that I'd call it lucky that Pep sliced Miller open, took his best shot, got up and beat him.

I don't have a dog in that fight, but seeing as how you fellas have some sh*t to work out amongst yourselves. I'd say that should make Pep the WBC Champion by default.

He'd be perfectly willing to fight Jofre and Nelson back to back in his inaugural title defenses.

Do you really want to be awarded a title, or so you want to EARN it in the squared circle?
We at ThatchRoof know you to be a man of integrity and sporting competence - we are sure that you agree that winning a World Championship in an Email is most unseemly.

Perhaps the thin air at the top has you hyped? That lack of oxygen to the brain could make you hallucinate. Couple that with the noteworthy run of Willie, the high profile nature of it and seeing his name in lights has dazzled him...

Do not fear it won't be too long before Azumah is at the other side of the ring and he will gladly hand him his him first defeat.

My guy did earn it. He won his qualifier. Nelson and Jofre didn't.

So what? Now I gotta wait another week for you 2 chumps to determine who's gonna lose against Pep in the Title match?

I could've done had a title defense down, and further on my way to unification by then.

He earned the right to fight for the vacant title, not be given it by default.

Patience is a virtue. And you should perhaps exercise some of it, don't be in such a hurry to meet Azumah...

Well is it Azumah I'm meeting or is it Jofre? You saw the ruling by The Commish. It's one of you chumps next week, and whichever one it is, will lose.

Yes, I have just read it... Jaffa Cake is ranked higher than my guy, we will stand aside... Never let it be said that we stand in the way of progress. Good luck to you both and may be the best man win.

Thank you. My guy will win, and we'll be happy to hand Nelson a loss in our 1st title defense too :TU:

But one fight at a time. The only thing we're focused on right now is Jofre. Pep will show you how to beat the guy. Take notes.

Saddler's fate is in his managers hands. If we hear from him, he participates.... if not he can have the first challenge when Bass and Dixon have their day.
