Eddie should put women’s boxing on a separate app rather than ruining proper cards with irrelevant boring overhyped fights. Have Laura presenting and Maya doing whatever it is she’s good at.
I reckon it’d get a couple of dozen subscribers maybe - mostly for wanking purposes.

Re: Round-by-Round: Mauricio Lara vs. Josh Warrington II - 4 September 2021
I agree. He is not much better known than Campbell Hatton .. in fact it may be about equal with the casuals.
I`d forgotton about Dubois and Joyce .. I think that says it all.
Boxing is on the endangered sport list. The quality fighters are cutting the throats of those following them by avoiding the fights that the fans want to see. And the promoters using rubbish like womens boxing, Youtubers, and the Triller 50+yr olds shuffling about are gonna accelerate the death of boxing.

And then the women will get paid what they are worth!CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 08:42 Eddie should put women’s boxing on a separate app rather than ruining proper cards with irrelevant boring overhyped fights. Have Laura presenting and Maya doing whatever it is she’s good at.

Saying that I think the top amateurs get paid more than the top pro's which is why the standard I saw in the Olympics was much better than you normally see in the pros.
There are only a handful in the pros that can fight, like Taylor, but then she has no one to fight against.
The likes of Caroline Dubois could beat Courtney and Bridges together with one hand on her debut.

Other than hard core fans nobody would recognise Sunny Edwards, Warrington, Selby, Burns, Kid Galahad, Josh Taylor, Brook,Buatsi, Whyte, Joyce, Dubois.
I've even forgotten the cruiserweight champs name.
I wouldn't recognise Conor Benn. And I sometimes look at boxing forums. I think you have him int he wrong list, he should be in the second.
I would recognise Brook, Dubois, Selby and Joyce from your second list but not the others, I know the names but not the faces.

Agree with this, Hearn is banging the drum hard, but take a look at his socials. It tells its own story.
Re: Round-by-Round: Mauricio Lara vs. Josh Warrington II - 4 September 2021
Even less will know who Conor Benn is now he 's on DAZN without the Sky push. Same with anyone there now, social media is ok but not the same as seeing it mentioned on every football match etc.

There’s only a small handful of UK boxers that have 1 million Twitter followers or whatever platform they may use.Coco wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 07:34 There would only be a chance of recognising Fury, Joshua and Khan and Connor Benn

AJ, Khan, Fury, Haye.. not sure about other names recently.
Even Hearn has less than 500k followers last time I checked
I just checked. He has a million now.

Re: Round-by-Round: Mauricio Lara vs. Josh Warrington II - 4 September 2021
It was basically a boxing show in front of a mainly football crowd. Up in the stands, every permutation of leeds united chants rang out all night, well those, and quite a few anti-man united chants too. Plenty of "fxxk" the mexican malarky too. During bouts, there were the "stand up if you hate man united" ditties, with most folk obliging. Understandable given the setting but a bit tiresome by the end, particularly when the cheer leaders would stand with their back to the ring to orchestrate these things whilst there was actually boxing going on in the ring behind them. Bellew was targeted with "scouse fat baxxard" chants too. Bridges was definitely very popular with the crowd, you'd be forgiven for thinking she was a leeds lass if you didn't know any different.

Warringtons headbutt means his next payday is decent. If he’d been Kod he’s disappear. Also a couple of questions: why did he give up the IBF title, and why were the fights 12 rounders? I bet Lara got paid eff all as he wasn’t ‘champion’ or even a challenger

It was a main headline event, and Warrington has been fighting 12 rounders and had just lost his belt.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 16:33 Warringtons headbutt means his next payday is decent. No issue with it being 12 rounds.
Plenty of fights don’t have a single belt linked to them and are 12 rounds.

Nor do I. But it’s rare to have a 12 rounder without a title. Also why did Josh drop the title?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 16:59It was a main headline event, and Warrington has been fighting 12 rounders and had just lost his belt.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 16:33 Warringtons headbutt means his next payday is decent. Re: Round-by-Round: Mauricio Lara vs. Josh Warrington II - 4 September 2021
Not sure if it's been discussed, but does that mean Lara has exercised his rematch clause so could now give Warrington the two fingered salute and go for a world champion?

He was ordered to fight Galahad, his IBF mandatory again. But he wanted to fight Xu Can. Can didn’t want to come to the UK I think I can’t remember.. so instead fought Lara. But by that time because IBF are so impatient, they stripped Josh.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 17:15Nor do I. But it’s rare to have a 12 rounder without a title. That’s when Kid vs. Jazza was ordered the for Vacant belt.
