noticed that too. Obviously Diamante has had some surgery on his spine. The question is whether he sustained the injuries in the manner he says…. Or whether it was routine planned surgery… or he exaggerated to a huge extent. For me the fact he has no grazes, bruises etc anywhere else on his body, deliberately avoided posting any photos on social media until he was called out (he loves posting photos of himself) and his previous lies over losing an arm in a similar ‘crash’ that wasn’t detailed on his social media PLUS the fact people investigated all the available police and crash data and found no mention of the incident….. makes me conclude he’s lying about the crash. The doctor getting involved is odd though, though so is the fact this guy spends all time defending Diamante story which is not his job as a doctor. Never seen that before.

Even the biggest lie has a tiny grain of truth in it.

Pathological liars come out with the strangest stuff. It gets to a point where they can’t separate truth from fiction in their own head any more.

I've known a couple. One was a guy who used to come into work with the most outlandish tales of getting a tow from a shark, owning a hotel in Scotland and hosting swinging parties in his giant hot tub. The other was a mate of my sister’s who just couldn’t help herself. She would get caught in a lie and just keep it going and used to come out with complete nonsense. I never understood how people didn’t see through the blatant nonsense. Her husband was oblivious. She was serially cheating on him and he was utterly clueless.

Also, for those who remember Magomed Abdulsalamov, Dr Verlotta was in his changing room after his fight with Perez. Dr Verlotta's insurers settled with Abdulsalamev i.e. paid him a chunk of money after Magomed's representatives alleged that he "failed to arrange for appropriate and timely medical intervention."

So it’s odd now to respond to things you disagree with on a boxing forum?

The doctor said he was on call when Diamante arrived at the trauma bay. Would you go to the trauma bay for a routine operation? What about the pictures/videos of his knee that’s had all of the skin and a load of tissue come off it? What about the broken ribs mentioned by the second doctor too? Not sure they’d plan in a routine operation fixing multiple fractures on someone’s spine with all that going on.

For what it's worth (not much, granted) I reckon there's elements of truth in it all but he's probably an embellisher. I used to work with a fella who told true stories but always added zeroes on to money numbers, exaggerated everything to the point of disbelief. Might be some of that going on.

It takes years for a scar to fade - not a few weeks. I’ve got many scars and some are still pink to this day.

I’ve know a couple of people suffer bad knee injuries and they wore knee braces for months and used a stick.

The guy is absolutely full of crap.
