Pretty one sided, I was expecting Whyte to put up a better fight than that. Fury surely can’t retire and not fight the winner of the Usyk and AJ fight

The people that paid 1000s for tickets are insane. they basicaly paid for 20 mins of ring walk atmosphere, then a 20 min beatdown..... then getting kicked out asap for the 11pm curfew.

blows my mind how late people show up. id say 50%+ of people came in after lowes vs ball... (good fight to be fair). for those people they saw the boringest fight iv ever seen (ekow vs teabag) and a decent but one sided 6 rounds of action....

I get paying a hundred bucks to sit in the the clouds and just absorb some atmosphere and be able to say you watched the gypse king... but even then id be there at 7pm ready to watch Tommy, Adelay, Lowe, Ekow and the main event. even if the undercards shit, im milking it.

tonyevs wrote: 24 Apr 2022, 03:39 Only now actually watched it. Great punch to finish off a very depleted Whyte.

I'd say a very good performance by Fury; he beat Whyte as easily as the other guys Whyte has lost to.

For Whytes big chance I expected a guy to be in peak fitness; certainly not one who looked gassed after 4 not too busy rounds. He apparently had a tough kickboxing career - and had a tough boxing career this far too. Did the Povetkin loss make him a shell?

It will be interesting if Fury relinquishes now. How much nonsense he spouts I think in 8-10 months he'll fight again.
Tony, what on earth are you talking about? Whyte lost two before last night. In one he rocked AJ and went toe to toe for most of the fight. The Povetkin fight he floored Povetkin twice before getting caught. Last night he got beaten up!
Now we are blaming it on Whytes kickboxing career!

Over jizzed
The 2022 AJ would have done even better against the 2022 Whyte.
Very poor of Whyte gassing so easily, after 5 rounds throwing less than 200 punches. Disgraceful

Whyte tried his best, think some people are being too harsh on him.

Fury is just levels above Whyte, no shame in losing to the better man.

There will always be another guy put forward for people to beat, its been the same for all previous champions but if the guy wants to retire then you've got to respect that. His achievements are a lot better than some of his detractors give him credit for.

He doesn't need Joshua on his record to validate his career. Other way round maybe.

He'd blow Joshua away in any case. That's always been an easy fight for Fury.

retiring after whyte, rather than fighting usyk to become undisputed, at the peak of his popularity and earning power, when he'd be favoured over anyone, is just silly and weird

this isnt' just a random anyone . this is the 3 belt unified unbeaten champ and olympic gold medalist. would be a huge win for tyson, way bigger than whyte. more on the line than vs wilder.

aj would be too if he beats usyk. hugely lucrative, undisputed champ, one of his biggest wins, beating his biggest domestic rival in a massive uk fight.

become undisputed, then retire with all dem marbles. retiring on whyte? lol

I think that’s the most complete performance I’ve seen from Tyson. Excellent movement, lovely jab and as the rounds went on he started to put a little more pop on his shots and the ending was as clinical as it gets.

I rate Whyte as being one of the top 6 heavies in the world. I think he was expecting the Tyson of the second and third Wilder fights so focused on bulking up a little. In reality it was a Tyson who could fight any way he wanted and the gulf in class just shows how good Tyson is. It doesn’t mean Whyte is an average heavy.

Tyson’s done enough to be considered a great heavyweight of all time but I’d still love him to fight the winner of Usyk/AJ to become properly undisputed. After that I hope he retires.

I’m pretty sure Tyson will be back in the WWE this summer and he’ll be part of the PPV show at the Millennium Stadium early September. Hopefully by then the AJ/Usyk situation will be sorted and the undisputed can take place in December.

Re: the show I thought BT did a good job with their team but apart from the Lowe/Ball fight the rest of the undercard was awful as predicted.

Beating Whyte in conclusive fashion cements him at the top more than Wilder did as Wilder was unproven. Beating AJ/Usyk winner cements him as the best of the generation. Then beating AJ/Usyk would clear out the division for the generation and there could be no doubters. I think by retiring now, Fury will still have doubters.

What happened to Fury's Irish heritage last night?

He was rocking some major pro English gig.

Me thinks he runs with both the hare and the hound.

All about the coin

agree, beating the aj-usyk 2 winner leaves 0 doubt, would be a great achievement to be undisputed, and would be a huge win for him. he's at the peak of his earning power, popularity, and in good form now too. weird to retire on whyte rather than that fight.

If it was that simple and risk free for him, they why would he NOT take that fight, especially if AJ was to pull off the upset (I'd assume) in the Usyk rematch?

If AJ lost again, Fury vs Joshua would still be a huge draw and would sell out Wembley. But AJ would be the definite B side, and so not sure they'd manage to negotiate a deal.

imagine how weird a fury fan has to be to want him to retire on dill pickle whyte instead of scoring an easy and legacy enhancing win in an utterly massive undisputed title fight

they should be salivating over that fight

Nobody is saying they want him to retire.

But if the guy wants to retire then that should be respected. Its not us taking punches in there.

It's his health.

Whyte was terrible but I’m in the mind that Fury made him look even worse than he is.
Fury is an absolute nightmare for anyone. Can box, can rumble, can fight inside… and now can bang like fornicate since going to the Kronk.

The old retirement trick, Tyson won’t retire, he’s saying that to build up even more money for the AJ Usyk winner.

I respect Tysons achievements yes he’s won all the belts, been the lineal champ, he’s unified, he is undefeated but he’ll want to top that all off with being undisputed……..then that’s a good time to call it a day.

Whyte had to be rated top 5 almost by default, but other than his win over an unhealthy povetkin, when did he ever look impressive.

A euro level brawler with basic skills an average workrate and decent but not special power.

Scorecards were 50-45, 49-46 and 48-47 after 5 rounds. No idea how you can give Whyte 2 rounds. 🤷‍♂️

If Whyte won any one round, the only case would be the first. And I didn’t even give him that.

See above the breakdown of the scores.

Right. He should win Usyk to clean up the division. And if Joshua somehow wins Usyk, Fury mustn't miss his most expensive affair.

Anyone think the ONLY way we get Fury-Josh is if Josh gets those other belts back?

Surely they don't fight if AJ loses again since his stock would have fallen, Fury would be the A-side...they'd never agree on the money split, or AJ/Hearn wouldn't want to lose face as the B side.

Plus Fury would probably only take that fight for all the belts & not just a pay day.

Maybe...MAYBE...if Usyk beats AJ and then Fury in the undisputed.....and for whatever reason Fury continues for a last final payday vs AJ? :maybe:
