it might flop and we may no longer have to humour some of these undercard shockers

I think they’ll price this fairly low to try and maximise the crowd. Matchroom did the same at MSG - I think their cheapest were like $30.

As a one off these kind of events will sell well; like 1 or 2 a year. Put one on every week and attendances will just involves fighters friends and fam.

No wonder there was 70,000 ..tickets were a fiver to get in for gawds sake ..virtually free !!
Their so desperate for this crusade to succeed it's embarrassing! It's not about equality it's a drive to prove they're better than men !!

mickey1975 wrote: 05 Jul 2022, 15:29 No. I'd imagine after probably receiving tickets for a birthday present or saving up as a massive fan for the ticket their parents would take them. As a one off. Bit different here. Maybe get them all to Wembley for Joyce a fortnight later as well if they enjoy it.
Is girl-power still not a thing?

Ticket giveaway to every female club/team/girl guide/etc .. coach down/back .. it wouldn't cost the Sophia or Charlotte parents much at all.

They'd be so disappointed with the show they'd never even consider watching boxing ever again .. the Joyce show will still struggle

since when do girls/women actually give much of a sh!t about boxing though? look at the crowds even for the cards with the women headliners or a 'big' woman fight on them

you could have women doing competitive sh!tting too, doesnt mean women would be drawn to it

Ironically, the vast majority of women would much prefer to go to a Fury or AJ fight.

Its not just about women giving a shit about boxing - most casuals dont know or give a shit about boxing either - its about going to some hyped show.

When Sky are pushing it as promoting equality .. woman on equal billing as men etc, then giveaways to clubs etc and getting a load of teenage girls in there would look great as `introducing a younger audience` etc .. its bollox I admit .. but it wouldn`t surprise me.

Giving away tickets to something pushed on Sky and by clubs is a far easier

Hope it does well but it’s not my thing.

Unlike a few others I don’t find women boxing each other a threat to the world order (or at least what I’d like it to be) so I’m all good with it

Think Woman's boxing needs a Marshall win, a walk over win for Shields and people will lose interest again.

Let's be honest, it might be an all female card, but they are going to need to rely on an a mostly male crowd to fill the arena. That's how it is.

I suspect as others have mentioned they will be giving the tickets away rather than see a sparse crowd.

Yeah. Womens boxing needs someone to have the impact that Rousey had on female MMA. Dana White went from saying women would never compete in the UFC to seeing Ronda submitting everyone, to then sign her, get her headlining and then being one of the biggest PPV stars in the promotion’s history. If she was just winning decisions over everyone then I don’t think that would have happened. Her fights were usually quick, edge of your seat stuff and women’s boxing needs someone to bring that excitement to properly cross over.

Therein lies the key point why it wii be a hard sell.

Willing to bet there will be a lot of competitions giving away tickets as comps

I got to disagree with you mate. It’s definitely not better to mix it up, give them their own show and let’s see just how much interest there is in womens boxing.

I think there's space for both. You see plenty of cards with just men so no problems with cards with just women and there's plenty of cards which rightly have both.

I do think if it is going to be a significant all women card they need to make sure it's got some depth as there is still a big skill drop off once you get outside the world level boxers.

are they talking like all 10 fights will be women, ie so including the under card ? that’s too much, i’ll prob just tune in for the big 2 fights. i find it tough being objective with women’s boxing, i ask myself am i watching their boxing skills or just checking out how fit they are …

On a side note, women's football goalies are truly awful, better off having no one there at all.

This is a redhot side note. There are some talented female athletes out there. but fuk some of the female keepers look like they have been downing vodka and snorting ketamine for the warm up.
