Are you calling Wilder one of the big guys? In ability or stature?
If we are going on ability, I’d say Wilder is quite a small guy! Middle sized at best.

Remind me when Fury went in with Ruiz Jnr, Joshua or Uysk? My bad, Fury has been in with such luminaries as Seferi, Pianeta and Schwartz etc..
usyk is better than wilder and might be better than fury. if fury wasnt demanding 500m maybe theyd fight![]()

Povetkin and Parker lost to Whyte. Whyte or Klitschko couldn't land a glove on Fury.joshj909 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2022, 18:09Wilder is no more of a "bigger guy" in ability than Povetkin, Whyte or Parker based on who they have managed to beatFrostieballs wrote: ↑26 Sep 2022, 18:05

anyway, usyk > wilder
fury and wilder have themselves both missed out on 2 of the elite hws of their time, them fighting each other a zillion times doesnt change that

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
I think next year there will be some exciting fights with Joyce, Wilder, Uysk, Joshua, Whyte etc, so as boxing fans, we are very lucky. I doubt we will see Fury next year. I anticipate him retiring after the pointless Charr fight (a who cares fixture).
But, maybe, if his mind is all over the place (which it seems to be), he shouldn't be boxing at all.
His erratic behaviour does remind me of the time he pulled out of the Klitschko rematch, even though he probably would have won that as Klitschko was 40 then and well past his best: he had struggled in his fight before he boxed Fury.

Joshua not signing a contract after 11 days doesn't equal Fury not fighting in 2023.big lennox wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 03:28 I think next year there will be some exciting fights with Joyce, Wilder, Uysk, Joshua, Whyte etc, so as boxing fans, we are very lucky. Usyk has had 4 fights at hw. Fury tried to make the match in December but Usyk is not willing to fight then. It can happen next year.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 03:11

Uysk signed to fight Fury but he chose to box Whyte instead, and it is not unreasonable for Uysk not to want to fight in December given what he and his country have been going through this year plus he has just come off a hard fight.BigDoofus wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 04:26Usyk has had 4 fights at hw. It's Fury's messing about with Joshua is concerning. As Dan Rafael said, people who give other people ultimatums in public, tend to not want to fight ( for whatever reason). Are you pumped for Fury vs Charr when you know the result in advance ( Fury ko win inside 6 uncompetitive rounds)?

The TV networks didn’t meet until yesterday. A deal involving 3 networks that the 2 fighters have exclusive deals with. The contract will never get signed before that happens and things are worked out.BigDoofus wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 04:23Joshua not signing a contract after 11 days doesn't equal Fury not fighting in 2023.big lennox wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 03:28 I think next year there will be some exciting fights with Joyce, Wilder, Uysk, Joshua, Whyte etc, so as boxing fans, we are very lucky. Styles make fights, we all know this unless you're trying to use it to manipulate proof of a point.

You're making things up now.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
Fury v Charr on PPV will do buys in the hundreds with the World Cup on BBC/ITV and I doubt the fight will sell many tickets either in the current climate.
Hopefully saner heads prevail and the contracts get signed and the Joshua fight is on.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
Let's hope that Fury stating the fight is off is as genuine as one of his retirements or donations to charities.
I would expect fWank and Eddie want it made because the value of the fight is dropping and they'll want to make as much as they can.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
Erm, there was an interview with Uysk's promoter explaining that Whyte and Joshua had agreed to step aside money last December and Uysk signed a contract to fight Fury, but at the 11th hour Fury decided to box Whyte instead. Eddie Hearn said the same thing.
Fury is a formidable talent in the ring, no doubt about that, and I think he is fundamentally a good person ( you can see that from the way he was helping Parker), but his social media presence of late has been somewhat erratic..
He must be simultaneously exhilarating and a nightmare to promote.

It is academic now in any event as Fury is obviously keen on boxing the Charr's of the world etc, so no need to mention Uysk, Joshua, Joyce etc.
I think Fury - Charr will be an incredibly tough sell.

Usyk turned down the fight for this December.
Joshua agreed terms but won't sign the contract.

It's just showbiz. Footballers kissing the badge. Nobody above the age of 12 really takes any notice.

Simon Jordan suggests Eddie Hearn 'knockout fear' behind Anthony Joshua vs Fury collapse
Simon Jordan has questioned whether Eddie Hearn is the reason behind the collapse of Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury after the Gypsy King's self-imposed pass on Monday afternoon at 5pm. The WBC heavyweight champion told AJ and his camp that he would be moving onto Manuel Charr should they fail to put pen to paper for the December 3 clash in Cardiff with Fury now prepared to snub his long-term rival and leave him out in the cold.
Joshua has already declared that he accepts all terms and that he's ready to sign the deal, which he claims is with his legal team.
Meanwhile, Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn held a meeting with Queensbury Promotions on Monday to try and thrash out the final elements of the deal.
Nonetheless, Fury is no longer interested after already allegedly striking a deal with Charr.
Now Jordan has mystically suggested that Hearn might be behind the collapse - because he doesn't want to see his man stopped by Fury.
Jordan said on talkSPORT: "I wonder if relationships with broadcasters, the monetising of a fighter would be that [the reason the fight isn't going ahead] maybe if he gets knocked out by Tyson Fury - he goes nowhere, he's retired, he's done.
"But people have got contracts with DAZN, long-term relationships with DAZN that Anthony Joshua is a key component of.
"Do you really want these fights? Do you really want to see your fighter go in against Fury and get knocked and then have no ability to monetise him going forward."
Hearn will strongly refute those claims given he is still trying to make the fight happen - despite the expiry of Fury's deadline.
He told talkSPORT: "There were various positive calls today between promoters and broadcasters who are all working hard to finalise the fight.
"There has been no talk of a deadline between the parties, but we are moving at pace to try and conclude the deal."
It's not often that Hearn is in agreement with rival promoter allegedly but he declared that was the case on Twitter on Monday.
Warren had insisted that he was still trying to make Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua following a "good meeting," before adding the Gypsy King "lost patience" before the deadline.
Hearn tweeted in response to the above: "26.09.22 - I agree with Frank!"
Fury is adamant he is pressing ahead with a fight with Charr with the challenger already training in Cologne, Germany.
The Brit posted on Instagram: "Looking forward to fighting a man who wants to fight and has fire and desire.
"Fought some of the best fighters and now stepping up again. Get in there Charr."
