Looks like the rematch is getting closer.#

Look how tables turn,

Many had Jonas winning that, now Sky is backing Jonas huge and she's got the belts and the A side.

How on earth does that fight generate enough money to pay her that much ?

I can't believe the fight is worth much at all, Harper got exposed by Baumgardner and Jonas by Obernauf. Somebody has more money than sense to put up a big purse for this fight

I note with interest there is a few of you who mock my opinion concerning Natasha Jonas doing so well, for not only herself but also being one of the female boxers who has brought womens boxing to prominence of world sport …

As an amateur:

Won a bronze medal in the lightweight division at the 2012 AIBA World Championships.

Won a bronze in the light welterweight division at the 2011 European Championships.

Won a silver in the light welterweight division at the 2014 European Championships.

As a professional boxer has a record of 13-2-1

Despite the losses:

World WBO female junior middleweight title.

Won the world WBC female super welterweight title.

Won the World IBF Light middleweight title.

Not bad for someone who is as bad as some of you make out :TU:

It’s insane really , supposedly Tasha been on good 6 figure purses for her last few fights ,
Harper the same , so promoters are obviously willing to pay the women the money

No ones mocking you , its just a fact womens boxing is a very low standard for the most part , if a woman is half decent its a lot easier to beat the others who are totally useless , and lets have it right most are worst than novice male ameteurs , , so why should joe public be made to watch the crap on shows they payed good money to see ,, and why oh why do they get to be main event and or on ppv ,

Mind you i'm not going to complain too much about it , i just follow my own advice , i DON'T WATCH . if it comes on while i'm watching a show , simple , tea and toast time

Surely that can’t be true. It would mean that the guys fighting on the same card who are presumably responsible for most of the tickets sold are being paid a pittance in comparison to a much less skilled and less dedicated fighter in Jonas who is only appearing on the card so the broadcaster can tick the woke box.

I thought fighters purses were a direct reflection on how many punters they draw to an event either via ticket sales or on tv

Natasha Jonas' savage response to "six figure" Terri Harper rematch offer

According to Harper’s trainer Stefy Bull, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has sent a “large high end six figure offer” to Jonas’ team for the mouthwatering rematch.

However, the former Matchroom fighter has responded to this claim and also suggested she is now earning more money while with current promotion BOXXER.

Hearn and Matchroom are looking to set up an undisputed super-welterweight world title fight between Jonas and Harper.

This is something Jonas appears to be unaware of, judging by her response.

“Matchroom, big six figures? Oxymoron, stop the cap,” she wrote alongside laughing emojis. “I’ve been getting big six figures since I left. But we’ll see.”

I absolutely don't understand how anyone financing this to this sort of amount could possibly break even at best.
Most interest will be on the undercard. That's a fact. Like it or not.

Yes Joe, if you insinuating at the time that Hearn was a racist is the other side to blame then you have a warped sense of moral standing.

Jonas has lucked right in with SKY, and you know what, fair play to her. However that shouldn't detract that her last 3 fights have been gash (excuse the pun).

Milk it for all its worth Natasha, because if you don't Joe will.

I think it’s quite childish. Typical of Joe seemingly. They’re bitter that They didn’t get the Harper rematch. They fail to mention that Tasha went straight in for the undisputed tile at lightweight.

They seemingly fell out with Eddie partially because he didn’t want to pay her to fight a really poor opponent on a Liverpool show so she moved elsewhere. Joe then came out and said Eddie was racist or sexist (I can’t remember which).

I agree with the above comments.

It's not her fault she is getting good money and calls herself a world champion and I don't blame her - but at her age she needs to make as much as she can as quickly as she can.

I like Jonas. She is the only woman I know who wears a sweater inviting you to guess her weight and age.

Would imagine Matchroom pay their world title ladies fights (outside KT) what a male defending a British title would get.
