So much for Croke park.
3 Arena is like 8x smaller.

Eddie said Croke Park would cost double Wembley to get. I think it would also have to finish early time wise due to housing nearby. Shame as Croke Park is a great venue steeped in history.
I’m surprised they don’t look at the Aviva or an outdoor stadium outside of Dublin though.

Atmosphere will still be electric but I feel like they can fill bigger
Re: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano II - 20 May 2023
Just watched the Press Conf for Serrano Cruz. The card is full of well matched fights. Really hope Cruz tests Serrano.

It’s weird they’ve announced Dublin without announcing an actual venue?

It’s weird they want McGregor to cough up half a million euros but can offer Manny presumably millions to fight a drug cheat decades younger than him….Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑06 Feb 2023, 06:53 It’s weird they’ve announced Dublin without announcing an actual venue?

Yeh. Probably see if Conor comes through.. or apart from that it’s the 3 Arena.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑06 Feb 2023, 06:53 It’s weird they’ve announced Dublin without announcing an actual venue?
I don’t see why they didn’t go Aviva stadium.

KATIE TAYLOR VS. AMANDA SERRANO 2 - EDDIE HEARN CONFIRMS PLANS FOR CONOR MCGREGOR TO SPONSOR FIGHT
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn will hold talks with MMA star Conor McGregor on Monday in the hopes of putting on a Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano rematch at Croke Park.
Hearn is concerned that the costs of choosing Croke Park mean that the 3Arena is the likely candidate, but earlier revealed that McGregor was contemplating a sponsorship deal for the fight to put it on at the huge stadium venue.
"I'm talking to Conor about potentially bridging that gap," reported the BBC.
"But more importantly looking at why the costs are so high, can we overcome them in May, or can we all work together to do the first fight at the 3Arena, and then a September fight at Croke Park. whether that's Taylor-Serrano 3 or more than likely Chantelle Cameron.
"Our date is 20 May which is immovable because it's built around the (broadcast partner) DAZN schedule.
"So maybe that is at the 3Arena then in September we go to Croke Park."
Of McGregor, he said: "He loves Katie Taylor and he would love to help get it at Croke Park.”

Mayer took shots at Hearn. Saying he can't afford the Baum-Mayer rematch.
That's why he's waiting on an offer from Top Rank.

I don't normally enjoy watching the lasses, but their first fight was tremendous.

Connor is a twat, but if he could sponser this to croak park it would be a great move for all i feel. Connor goes down a million, but it would be exceptional publicity. "connor bringing the first boxing event since mahamad ali back to croke park" would be a nice lil ego tickler for him.

I'm hearing that Serrano has pulled out of the rematch..
Re: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano II - 20 May 2023
Is there a reason? Not sure who else sells out Croke Park with Taylor but they could do an arena in the mean time in Dublin against Cameron, Mossely, Baumgardner, McCaskill or maybe even Braekhus. No need for a pointless mandatory defence.

Chantelle Cameron may step in.
Re: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano II - 20 May 2023
Excellent back up opponent really with a bit of amateur history to sell to the fans. It would be an opportunity for Taylor to take all those Super Lightweight belts aswell if she wants to go up 5 lbs.

Mayer has started an only fans to plug the gap in her earnings since her two titles went the way of the dodo.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023, 09:55 Mayer took shots at Hearn. Saying he can't afford the Baum-Mayer rematch.

I’ve always thought Cameron will be the one to eventually dethrone Taylor.
But I can’t see Taylor losing a decision in Ireland so would have to stick Taylor on her backside a few times or stop her.
Re: Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano II - 20 May 2023
I think Taylor deals with Cameron on points quite easily. It's high volume/output Taylor struggles with which Cameron doesn't have.jameswilson wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 10:41I’ve always thought Cameron will be the one to eventually dethrone Taylor.

Just announced on social media Serrano is injured and they are looking at a revised date once Serrano recovers.
I did think it odd that Serrano would pull out of such a big payday.
