Downside - Can get caught square in the pocket on the inside, moments of off balance, his lead right against a good counter left hook could be challenging.

Fights warming up nicely.
Sorry Evander, just edited your post to the bit I would like to add to. Agree with the rest.
Benevidez can be a bit lazy with his jab, flicking it, and not returning to his guard. I don't know if that is a bad habit, or if it's just because the levels of his opponents doesn't require him to sharpen up.
Plant will punish him for it with quick and precise counters. I think Plant's best plan is to dart in and out of range and counter.
I put this fight at 60/40 to Benavidez, and I just hope if it goes to the cards we get a fair deal, because the three judges are "the usual suspects"

Pictures of Benavidez on Instagram show him in great shape. I think Plant is about to catch a monstrous beating. I don't think Benavidez is playing up the fight for the cameras. He really hates Plant.

Noted.
Plant does the same three things in fights that I've noticed.
Canelo ... Attempts to slap him at the press conference.
Benavidez ... Ongoing, but stirring things up with inflammatory language.
Dirrell ... Plant thrown to the floor and a non existent Direll jab suggests Caleb got to him.
There's some mind games going on there in team Plant.

It's a close fight, who you got ?

This point, Benavidez based off of punch activity and creativity, he's bringing more to the table boxingwise.

It's tempting to support this fight, but it also pisses me off that this fight would just he an HBO main event back in the early to late 2000's. I also agree that this fight won't be competitive. I'm ready to get egg on my face if Plant manages a ridiculous upset.

Weigh in makes it look so much better.
Plant was ripped and thick, good at the weight.

For sure it ain't PPV. Not even close.
So steal it or wait for youtube. Often only takes a few days.
And I think Plant has a shot, or at least will last until he takes his foot off the gas. Remember Benavidez has been fed low level guys for years, Plant is going to be a big step up.
While Benavidez has every natural advantage over Plant, he doesn't have experience.

22 x 22 ft ring instead of 20 x 20?

That more or less tells us what Plant is planning to do tonight.

Plant did survive until the 11th against Canelo so perhaps he's planning to go all 12 against Benavidez.

Benavidez on the other hand must be real confident of walking him down.

Whatever happens, it's great to see 2 top boxers still prepared to face off against each other like this.

Speaking on that, I'm wondering if boxing stopped all that aggressive testing that happened a while back that caught Canelo? These two are kind of the poster boys for having USADA/VADA hovering around. Did Plant always have that HGH gut, and we know Benavidez's story?

Excited for the main - it’s been a fair while since we’ve had such a good match up (on paper).

One more before the main.

That certainly likely. I believe Plant will outbox him but may succumb to the Bena's pressure in the late rds. If I were to wager, I'd put my money on Plant to win a decision (as you predicted) but this is not an easy fight to predict.
